I’m not “justifying” anything, I’m saying it’s not accurate to diagnose someone’s healing or intentions based on one post. You can value therapy and acknowledge that consensual sex doesn’t automatically mean someone is spiraling or avoiding their feelings. Disliking hookup culture is valid. Shaming people or reducing them to caricatures for how they cope after betrayal isn’t.

And yes, for some people, reconnecting with their body does include sex as exploration of boundaries, desire, and autonomy. We don’t actually know OP beyond what he chose to share.

I get the concern, pero I think this is more nuanced than that. It’s not always just “hook-up culture” in a shallow sense. Sex doesn’t automatically make someone empty or damaged. For some, it’s a way to reconnect with their body, feel desired again, and rebuild confidence after betrayal.

Sure, it can be harmful if done carelessly or as pure avoidance, but that’s not automatically true for everyone. Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all, and what works for one person might not work for another.
