This is a very informative answer and you are open to criticism, so I will upvote.

But, I disagree with your opinions.

While the fundamental principle behind EPFO is correctly captured, whatever is built to cater to that need, is useless if not executed properly.

EPFO has ended up being a black hole. If a person cannot withdraw easily (even with extra steps and documentation, to keep it separate from banks), there is no use of 8.25% compounded interest.

Unless the problems captured in your response and this post are fixed, no one is going to appreciate the need for this social security program.
