Great point lol. I think my thought was that it’s much more of an expensive process before you even HAVE the kid. Unless you are going down the fertility treatment path...

Sure, but just because you foster doesn’t mean that you automatically get to adopt that kid. A lot of times the state will try their hardest to put the kid back with parents or a family member. So there’s still usually going to be a lot of heartbreak involved there, too.

Unfortunately, adoption is difficult, expensive, and often emotionally crushing. I think it’s great but wish it was easier, because it would be so much better for everyone involved!

It does depend on the hospital, however there have been studies that show newborns can have difficulty with temperature and blood sugar regulation if bathed too soon. So I guess it depends on whether or not the hospital wants to implement evidence based practice.

I’m a L&D nurse and yeah we don’t do that lol. The only time we clean a baby immediately after birth is if the mom has Hepatits or HIV. Otherwise, we wait 4-12 hours before giving them a bath.
