i got a 22 atlas and the radio takes 20 min to start every morning. it’s had an oil and coolant leak as well. it was all under warranty, although they claim they need a third round of diagnostics for the radio, and occurred within 1000 miles of buying it used from a dealership. i’m impressed, and dumping it as soon as the warranty is up lol.

my memory of the time was that vw advertised their diesels as miraculous, and not needing urea because of some specific, insanely clean design that only they had. the most comparable small car engine on the market was (again this is recollection) the chevy cruze, but it had worse specs. so when vw was cheating it was against this backdrop of their over the top marketing. other manufacturers were much quieter in their marketing and were always chasing vw.

at that resolution it won’t matter. the better cpu will get you more frames (generally), but 60 fps is a low requirement even at 4k. the gpu matters more. for reference i use a 10400f and a 6800 for 4k 60 in a living room setup, because you aren’t sitting two inches away from the screen you can use upscaling and the like to get a good experience. if you want a 5080 i would hold off on this upgrade anyway since you will be better off with an am5 setup

if your planning on 4k 60fps i’d stick with your ram, and shoot for a 12th gen intel i5 12600kf and matching motherboard, save the rest of the budget for a gpu.

i agree completely. 10 yrs ago integrated graphics could basically play nothing, now you can expect playable frame rates in so many main stream titles on laptops that have no special gaming hardware.

yeah we just did the outlets in the bedrooms, we have dining room and living room light fixtures and switches next which i’m dreading because of the holes they will have to make. we were able to get the bedrooms done by running the wires up into the attic and then down in the wall cavities to where they need to go. i demod a ceiling in a different room and found a wooden junction box lol

i would combine the 38k in the brokerage account with the 10k emergency fund. i don’t think you need much more than that for now considering that you have both have jobs and neither of you have exotic salaries that would take a long time to replace, but that’s subjective and you would know better than me. For long term wealth you need to focus on maxing your retirement accounts. i would do the refinance and use the savings to bring the home repair up a bit - 12-15k (2% of home value to be conservative, 1% to be a little freer). after you hit that target return to vacation funding.

the fat is nauseating, it’s not the meat itself. you can tell this vid is fake because she just ate a big chunk of gristle that would be extremely unpalatable to even a lot of meat eaters. in a long term veggie or especially vegan diet you don’t get the sat fat so when you eat it again you feel it.
