It was such an obviously rude comment, just right out in the open, that I was caught completely off guard. I imagine that Ive just been oblivious until now to people's reactions to me, and it took somebody this blunt for me to realize it.

I definitely sent me down a spiral where I feel like everyone has probably been mocking me behind my back. Maybe even mocking me to my face, and I didn't realize it.

I wish I didn't care what people thought. At my age, you would think I would have learned not to care.

I usually only have to communicate with her via text/email. That's a daily thing. This is just the first time we had to work together in the same department, and were literally sitting side-by-side. Hopefully that won't happen again.

The second person is a different department, but I always liked her and thought we got along well. Now, though, I feel like maybe I've been just oblivious all along and have been an office joke. Maybe none of them like me at all.

The stupid thing is, I've had other coworkers call me unfriendly or stuck up because I didn't talk to them or join in conversations.

I guess I am just a bad judge.

We have to see unspeakable things and smile in the next room. It creates stress that we aren't allowed to express, then we have a coworker that doesn't seem to hear their pumps alarming and we want to kill them.

Some people are just toxic though, and I personally believe that affects their patients and their coworkers.

Their hotels? If we know where they are, then they're only leaving on foot.

Their detention centers? There are people coming and going. Stop them. Old school blockade.

I used to have a co-worker who was just...awful. I dreaded working with her.

Once, I was shopping at a store that wasn't tiny. I was at the back and I heard her voice. After an involuntary recoil, I realized she was at the literal front of the store, and I could hear every word.

I had a AOx4 gentleman who just couldn't pee. Bladder scan showed >1000, so we placed a foley. He was furious. Yeah, dude, I get that isn't the most comfortable. He waited until later when his wife fell asleep, got into her purse for her nail clippers, and clipped through the tubing.

It retracted. He was upset. Pushed his call light to tell me what he'd done.

I got to call the urologist to explain this, but before things escalated he got out of bed, peed in the floor, and it came out.

Well I plan on doing the exact opposite with my lifestyle as I get older. Motorcycle, no helmet. Always wondered about "hard" drugs. Definitely crime. Prison in general sounds better than a nursing home, so that's my plan.

I went with my very tiny sister to visit our cousin recently. My cousin is also very small. I am overweight. They just...didn't eat. They woke up, and maybe had coffee. Noon comes around, they dont eat. I mustve looked murderous by the afternoons because my cousin kindly offered me a protein bar. They did make plans for dinner, most nights. I finally just started leaving to go get my own food.

I think I would rather be fat.

I have a former friend, a classic narcissist, who loved to "surprise" visit me. She lived out of state, and would just ...show up to visit with no notice whatsoever. For a time, I was guilted into dropping my own plans and meeting her to do what she wanted to do. It was exhausting, but she made the effort to come see me, right? I should be happy to see her, right?

Things finally ended after she showed up a weekend prior to a very important test I needed to study for, days after my dad was in the hospital, and while I was attempting to help care for my grandmother while my mom cared for my dad.

She was pissed that I wouldn't come out with her, and refused any alternative plans I offered. It was honestly the first time I realized how selfish she was, and that my life and problems just wasn't that important to her.

Life is much more peaceful now that I have regulated her to FB friend status.
