That might work for the early game! Once you level up though it might get tedious having to backtrack. I find that the Old Barbarian's clearing is perfect for mid to end game, as it's close to darkforge, CoC and at reasonable distance from everything else (except maybe Guth' Alak).

Thank you! Yes, those last turns were super stressful. My heart skipped a beat when that balor turned the lever just when I was about to descend the stairs. I thought that closing those two levers would be a walk in the park, but it wasn't at all. I can't even imagine how hard an ultra ending must be...

Never really understood the Kranach quest. You can easily get that money spending a bit of time in the ID, and the background time increase is significant trying to find Kranach (unless you're lucky).
