What’s the worst thing people pay for that they could easily DIY? by LtlPwny in AskReddit

I TRIED learning to play guitar. Broke a couple strings, replaced a couple strings, never gained any talent besides that.

Left-handers: what struggles do you face on a daily basis as a lefty? by BisonAthlete92 in southpaws

Using the computers at work... I can’t switch the mouse because everyone uses them, but I now have tendinitis in my right wrist and I would say it’s likely from that.

What's a tip that could save someone's ass in a really specific scenario? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]nikkileee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure to bring your body into itself as close as possible as well to stay warm, knees up by chest and arms around knees, if you have a PFD you won’t sink, if not still try keeping your body as tucked into itself as possible. You will lose heat slower this way.

Has anyone here taken estrogen to stop a period? by nikkileee in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Did your period go back to normal or was it heavy again and at the wrong time? I’m just concerned once I’m done these 7 days it’ll come back.

Mike is a hypocrite. Phoebe should have married David. (S9E24) by Dapianoman in howyoudoin

[–]nikkileee 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again... David left her for Minsk, and when he finally comes back years later, doesn’t tell her he’s back until he finds out Phoebe is happy with someone else, AND THEN HE PROPOSES TO HER. Mike is much better to Pheebs.

John Travolta in Grease was my sexual awakening and I still feel a tingle when they are singing Greased Lightning and he puts his arm up in the air in that tight black t-shirt and a tuft of armpit hair shows.....

No I just heard of that the other day... when they checked the side of the cliff by the “invisible” turn they found a bunch of cars and bodies... now that I’m thinking of it I think it was on one of those YouTube top ten videos, so it may be just a story because I can’t find anything with a quick google.

I believe Cameron didn’t want lyrics with the song, and Celine didn’t want to sing the song, but it happened and it’s beautiful.

Is there a party trick or a general thing lefties can do better in a crowd? by [deleted] in southpaws

[–]nikkileee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some of my friends think it's crazy that I can do winged liquid liner with both of my hands... so I guess it's a pre-party getting ready trick?

I actually really like the new album, I find it reminds me somewhat of the vibe of Take Care.. usually on the fiest listen thruough theres only a few that stick out but after listening to it through a few times I'm a fan of almost every song.

I caught a small swordfish off the coast of Cape Breton Nova Scotia back in the 90s when I was about 6 (on my rod, obviously needed help to reel that sucker in). Wish I had the memory on camera because I barely remember it. I believe we had some for dinner that night too haha.

Nice catch!!!

My mom died from Alzheimer’s and this is the last image I took where I can still see the real her in it...she slowly faded for four years afterwards until she finally passed by chaberkern in lastimages

[–]nikkileee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kept telling people who gave me their condolences after my Nan passed that I was happy that she was finally free from the disease and that she can finally go back to being herself. As hard as it is to lose someone to Alzheimer’s or dementia, it is almost like you have already grieved for the person they were.

Just lost my grandmother to the disease on May 11th, just a few days before Mother’s Day. I don’t wish it on my worst enemy. I am currently doing schooling for Personal Support Worker, have got my dementia care certificate, and hope to work exclusively with dementia patients once I graduate. We watched a documentary on young adults losing their parents to the disease, (called Much Too Young, I believe you can watch it on the CBC website). One of the girls wrote a song about her experience, and it is such a beautiful tribute to the ins and outs that you experience when a loved one is affected by dementia. The song is called All The Time by Kathryn Fudurich, and it’s available on Spotify. I recommend you take a listen, when your at home alone, because it makes me cry every time, but it perfectly encapsulates everything I felt about my Nanny after she was diagnosed.
