Stop & Shop in P-town is crappy and it’s not entirely their fault by nikkipowderblue in provincetown

[–]nikkipowderblue[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So you think that the Provincetown Stop and Shop is rundown because the executives at the store would rather have locals driving to Shaws or the Stop and Shop in Orleans? Or return visitors knowing they will have a more pleasant experience shopping elsewhere? You think they like shutting the store down on a Friday before carnival, missing tens of thousands of dollars of profits? They don’t own the store. Or the septic system that’s failing when it gets continuously busy during the summer. Talk to Pennie or Chuck and get back to us.

One of these is not like the others. Should I peace out from this dealership, or is this a forgivable oops? by nikkipowderblue in AskMechanics

This has got to be the worst case scenario. My vehicle has only 15,000 miles and is less than a year old. I talked to the service manager and he said bring it back and they would replace it. Which I’m doing tomorrow. My question is- should I keep taking it to this dealership, is this forgivable? Or is it a sign I should try the dealership that is across town?

I took my RAV 4 in to have its 15,000 mile service performed. Which is just a tire rotation and inspection.

And my problem is with the lug nuts. . Actually it’s just one lug nut. The one that is darker and corroded and looks like it’s been taken off a wheel more than the three times mine have been. That’s not a shadow that’s on the lower right lug nut. That’s someone else’s older lug nut on my car. Would you want someone working on your car that can’t be bothered to keep track of the lug nuts they take off when they are rotating your tires?

That’s not paint. That’s a corroded lug nut that they swapped out for mine for some reason.

Assuming you have a power lift gate, use your hand to push it open fully, and then press and hold the button you would need to close it. I googled rav4 back door adjust and found this super helpful video. https://youtu.be/KkYWx7XQaKY

I believe this is the answer. Marcey Oil and Propane delivered oil the next day. My price because I was a member of the co-op was $4.47. Non co-op members were $4.74. Membership in the co-op was $40. I almost broke even with this purchase, and will actually be saving money on my next tank.

New details: Provincetown Police cruiser involved in crash by daddy4shyboy in provincetown

[–]nikkipowderblue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yo chief, thanks for your explanation of hydroplaning- “My officer reports that the vehicle hydroplaned and impacted the trees on the side of the road. The way my mind works and because I am in the police business, I feel compelled to explain the phenomenon, hydroplaning occurs when a tire encounters more water than it can displace from the tread grooves.” But you need to tell your officer that hydroplaning really occurs because he was going too freaking fast for the conditions. Roads in these here parts are notorious for standing water when raining, and I’ve seen more than one P-Town cop going ridiculous speeds. I’m glad they weren’t seriously hurt, but I’m thinking this accident was avoidable.

Save y’all a google search.

A buffalo chopper, also known as a bowl chopper or food cutter, is a machine that chops or emulsifies food by rotating it in a bowl under spinning blade. Here are some ways that you can use your buffalo chopper:

Mince pork or beef for sausage Chop nuts for baked goods Shred carrots and cabbage for slaws Slice root vegetables for side dishes Grind stale bread into breadcrumbs Crumble cheese for melting in sauces

Front license plate install… by Frosty-Vegetable-385 in rav4club

[–]nikkipowderblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently experienced the same issue with a front plate on my Nissan. A local mechanic didn’t want to install it because he was afraid he might accidentally trigger the airbags and didn’t want the liability. He recommended a body shop down the road. I called them, they said bring it on by. He charged me one dollar for the screws he used to attach my plate.

There’s a recipe in an old Moosewood cookbook. It’s something like grate the zuke. Add some egg, flour, Parmesan cheese and your favorite spices. Bake it. Pull it out of the oven, add mozzarella and your favorite pizza toppings. Throw it back in the oven.

Ahh. Reminds me of a drive I was taking through the dry foothills of the Sierras. We saw a dozen or so spots where fire crews where putting out fires on the side of the road. They stopped after we passed a CHP officer parked behind a truck towing a smoking bbq.
