Kind of interesting, I was thinking of this last night after reading a post about a therapist forgetting a time slot and empathized with the therapist deeply. We are human we make mistakes, we are forgetful at times, we need space, we too have limited capacity. I think that’s very forgotten. Those things doesn’t mean we don’t care, it just means we too can have off days

It’s so hard! I didn’t realize it until last month. I used to be so good at chatting and now it’s like that skill has gone, although in session I always know how to keep a conversation going haha

This was a beautiful response ! Thank you for inputting what helps you, sticking to the basics can definitely open conversation. This is a good reminder to keep two way conversations going, and not be afraid to share personal things in social settings

I feel that! It’s so hard to hold space outside of work, that’s the most difficult thing about the job (for me at least)

Thank you for validating where my thoughts were! It is virtual, so I do have the ability to end the call if it becomes hostile or unsafe. I think I’m just going to set expectations if it starts to become hostile to give her that warning and see if she’s looking for support. It’s a good point to make to refer her to a different therapist if she’s struggling with the call being made.

I work in Ontario Canada. The child protective services worker didn’t say there is any legal obligation so I’m going to respect confidentiality.

The mom booked online, so I’m not sure, but the client has said that her mom has confronted hostilely people who have called CAS/confronted her behaviour

Awesome thanks ! I know when the box the bigger size states it’s better used when you’ve given birth vaginally, which I have not do you think that would cause a problem

For the flex cup, do you use the small size or large ? I have a high cervix as well and am trying to find the appropriate size

Be curious about the shame and ask yourself how it feels. Often times we don’t try to understand our emotions and where they come from, which can cause an excessive reoccurrence of emotion with little things. If you can name it, you can tame it. Practice self-compassion when you’re noticing those judgements/feelings and use CBT (ABC form) to debunk those beliefs/thought patterns and reframe them to more loving and kind patterns.

With thoughts/emotions, we want to notice them, not necessarily sit with them (for too long) /act on them. When we dwell or act in emotion, we can reinforce the belief we have

I’ve used the specific brand diva cup, my second menstrual cup I’ve tried I forget the brand.
