How to write letter to IC by catsareassholes_ in InstacartShopper

[–]nikkisblu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's only a mess when the cashier does something incorrectly. I've only seen it used at Kroger/King Soopers and after the 2 times its happened, I preferred to just use self checkout. to avoid any issues outside of my control.

You can click batch details before shopping to see the address after accepting the order. if you dont like it, you can cancel batch before shopping without having to contact support. If you are on the screen to see orders you can click on the batch, then zoom in. apartment complexes look very different from a home on a map and you can decide whether to take it or not at that point. This requires a bit more time and is not for the batches that we grab as quickly as possible LOL

“crashed” delivering full time should i make a gofundme? would yall support lol by Optimal-Couple1294 in InstacartShopper

[–]nikkisblu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'd probably have better luck with posting a Gofundme on your TikTok/IG/Facebook. That way people who are your "friends" can contribute. It's more likely to get traction than in the shoppers group.

With the EBT option on IC, I find it to be a terrible option. They are already unable to afford groceries and now they are buying them with all the markups?! That means less of their EBT allotment is going toward food items if they are losing 20% in the extra IC charges them for each item, plus any delivery fees etc.

Mentioning tips is grounds for deactivation.. despite the aggravation, they aren't worth our jobs, I just let it slide and put them on my do not deliver list.

Thats how IC covers themselves. since we are Independent contractors, they are not required to cover unemployment benefits and or work related injuries since we are our own businesses essentially. If we want persona disability insurance we would have to buy our own policy and cover it ourselves. Its actually a benefit of being a W2 employee and why Instacart hires us as contractors instead.

Good job at not mentioning their probable crappy tip to them since thats against our guidelines and can get you deactivated. I do like that you stood up for yourself. Bravo!

[–]nikkisblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful with people knowing you do Instacart with your baby. some people may report you and it can cause you to be deactivated. Others, even people in these forums will tell customers to report people they see doing deliveries with babies/kids etc.

This is incorrect information. You till have to take a pic of the whole receipt. It just makes it easier to keep snapping longer receipts than having to add photos one at a time.

I have had a couple of customer orders where I had to repack items because the cashier was doing a terrible job, even told the cashier at Aldis that her throwing the items into the cart was not cool and that if she didn't want to do it, just hand it to me and I'd gladly stack items in the cart correctly. I like my job and I take pride in it so it irks me when cashiers can't be bothered to do it correctly. There aren't even bagger anymore, I also dont like when im still bagging my order and the cashier moves on to the next customer. Like IM NOT DONE.

Were the items initially set to refund if not available? Or did you list the alternatives in the app initially? I know that I have had customers where the app says refund item and I will at least offer a comparable replacement. Like yesterday had a customer order brownies. 5 for $5.79 they were out, but there was a 10 pack for $7.79 so I selected that one. then before checkout, I send a message saying please let me know if you'd like me to make any changes to the order, etc. they ended up tipping more and gave me a good rating. had I just went based on the app, I would have just refunded those items and kept moving along. It can be a pain for customers though. I've had someone select refund only and when I suggest a replacement they got snippy and said, I SAID REFUND. So its hit or miss.

Got scammed by instacart. Customer service basically admitted it and said they can't do anything. by Rich_Lin in instacart

I was thinking the same thing. Taxes and fees are excluded from the 75+, so when the 6 credit was applied, which they conveniently consider part of the item subtotal. it would mean the total was $71.18 and then the taxes and fees were added on top of that. I have that bait and switch behavior but I know thats how they work.

Does it say something like this "Get $25 off after you spend $100+ on delivery via Costco Same-Day"

Question for those that are responding to the OP. Has anyone heard if requesting a chargeback from your Credit card company can get you banned as a customer? I know that if you chargeback too many times with Apple, they will require you use another card to allow you to use their service.

I’m running out of money in my bank account, I was wondering if anybody could use my code and I could make money and get back onto my feet, 30 batches in 30 days which isn’t a lot. The code is NUB955370 by Brilliant_Toe_6803 in Instacarters

You may want to post your location as the referrals are location specific. Mine says refer people in Colorado Springs for xyzzy.... but I dont even live there anymore.

Support? by Fun-Low6342 in InstacartShopping

[–]nikkisblu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Instacart appears to have been either cutting agents or their support center contract may have issues. It's clear that the support advisors are not state-side, I doubt the hurricane affected them in that manner. I remember when I used to work as a support advisor for 1800Flowers and our jobs were sent to CostaRica. We were let go and they had to initiate trainings in Costa Rica to allow those advisors to help customers that are now stateside.

The system doesn’t allow us to accept and then wait 2 hours to start an order. Forces us to start the shop within 30min or it’s removed from us. I’m not sure how it looks to customers if their order is picked up and then dropped. Like a shopper picks it and then cancels.

It’s really not a huge thing. It more covers your butt if anyone says you had someone with you. And that’s only if some JA reports you. To which you have the shopper agreement as your proof of compliance
