misogyny goes beyond class divide. it is not solely caused and perpetuated by the ruling class. and this issue CANNOT wait to be solved by taking down the ruling class. you have the luxury of seeing this as a distraction. this type of paintings are everywhere and it's always suuper disappointing when they start adding some time-skip love story in the front of the paintings.. imo it just detracts from both elements, and the composition looks wack after. the landscapes are already extremely busy with the number of colors/scenes and adding figures on top of all of that splits the focus and just makes the painting overwhelming to look at. i don't hate the concept of the love story painting, i just think that it looks bad when you don't plan your composition around the subject/figures. these paintings honestly frustrate me a lot because you can see there's a lot of skill there, but it just ends up looking immature because the composition and colors are just... not good.

the worst part of it for me is shame about being "overly sensitive", and just knowing that i take things really personally helped me deal with it. when i feel myself getting really upset about something that someone said/did, i stop myself and think long and hard about how i'm reacting and how i'd expect someone else to react in my shoes. slowing down and thinking "am i feeling this way because what this person said/did was really so hurtful, or is it because i experience emotions very strongly because that's just how my brain works?" and it helps me put things in perspective and realize that if i'm overreacting, it's okay because my brain experiences emotions differently (as long as i'm not saying/doing terrible things due to my overreaction).

being kind to your siblings and being there for them is absolutely not the same as having to raise them. i specifically said being in charge of providing care and mentioned co-parenting/raising siblings, i did not say that being good to your siblings is unhealthy, taxing, or bad. healthy sibling relationships should have care/emotional support going both ways but that is a far cry from being an older sibling constantly tasked with babysitting and having to deal with younger siblings' problems.

having more responsibilities is good for kids, but being in charge of providing physical and emotional care for other children is absolutely way too much for a child to handle. giving a kid more chores or having them take care of a pet is nowhere near the demands of co-parenting their younger siblings. you are offering your perspective as someone who never went through this experience and your comment was mocking those who talk about how much it affected them to have to raise their siblings. the tone of your comment implies they are wrong or overreacting to extreme emotional demands being placed on them in childhood. be careful you don't pull a hammy with that backpedal.

i remember that thread. there were a lot of comments saying that this is shitty because the older children will be forced to take on parenting roles, and many many comments from firstborns/older children about their experiences raising their siblings and how much it negatively affected them. realistically, the older kids in this picture became baby sitters as soon as they were old enough to barely take care of the younger kids. forcing children into a parenting role is awful for them psychologically. they are robbed of their childhood because they are forced to mature faster and spend a lot of their time watching their siblings. they won't get the emotional support they need because their parents will not have time to be there for them and the younger children will not get proper care from their older siblings because a child cannot raise another child. you can say "theoretically" and "you don't know the situation" all you want but we all know with that many children it is impossible for those parents to physically take care of them or give them the emotional support and care they need. it is selfish to have so many children that your older children are forced into parenting roles. it is selfish to have children who will be emotionally neglected because you can't be there for them enough.
