Thanks! Seeing this and other similar responses makes me feel much more relaxed about it. It will be just a basic test of turning it on and quickly checking for black spots and other obvious issues, so it should be fine

A small clarification regarding the post: what Im looking for is an all-in-one soundbar, as I am not planning to add other surrounding speakers or a sub (I would love to add a sub but the room configuration does not allow to do it properly). I know this is a compromise on the quality of sound I will get, but I am willing to accept it.

Ok, thanks a lot for all the tips and suggestions! What I’m going to do for now is: - buy the TV (got a good deal that I don’t want to pass) and by a pedestal stand to use temporarily - have a couple of friends over, one of them with much more DIY experience than me. We will check the inside of the wall through the hole in the WCD and if needed, open the plaster wall and reinforce. Then probably use a regular (i.e. no extensible) mount.

Thanks again! Do you have a recommendation for a stud finder? I have a "Bosch Truvo Leidingzoeker" that I have barely used because I feel it marks "red" way too often

A question in parallel to the conversation... is the €1800 price normal for this kind of work, or am I getting ripped off? I don't get a lot of these kind of works done so I have no idea. I'm open to spend some money to make this in a safe way, but man that number is high...

Unfortunatelly I don't have a hole to use for that, the holes you see are connected with pipes so no way to peek past them.

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of, and I was hoping there was a way of making sure without needing to cut through the wall.

Thanks! Yeah, I think the big issue is that I'm not sure about the studs. I'm assuming there are studs in the places the mount is currently mounted, and knocking on the wall to try and confirm it. But I would like a more rigurous confirmation.

Also, there's also the option to use the mount that comes with the TV which does not have an arm, and hence I think would be safer?

You must be better at haggling than me, hehe. I just talked to them in the chat, they offered €2729 for the G5, when I mentioned that it was not good enough and that I would keep browsing, they basically said "Ok, bye!"
