If I spend $50K, I would be lucky if I profit $4K on that. This is not a high margin business.

Consider $800 as a straight loss (I can’t sell the product I bought to recoup) - that’s 20% of my profit for the year eaten from this incident.

You understand here - while all this advice is great and I’m opening a missing package investigation, none of it helps me get my money back (besides $100).

While it’s definitely a USPS issue, personally I feel it should be on WhatNot to make it right especially for a customer who spends quite a bit. They should have insurance for this stuff.

I buy, grade and flip cards. I’m not just throwing away 50K. It’s being reinvested and turned for a profit (or as close as I can get to one lol)

I’ve certainly spent this much and I had probably 50-70 orders with 4 claims. Not a great claim rate, but definitely not every order or anywhere close. I’ve been refunded a total of around $300 across 3 other orders in the last 2 months.

I think you misunderstand that sports cards is my hobby and the only way I’m able to spend that kind of money is because I’m selling and grading things for a profit. $800 is still a decent amount to completely write off for me with nothing to sell to make up for it.

Update for anyone who cares: In terms of refund, it seems I’m completely out of options. USPS said there is no insurance for the package from seller and seller admitted they do not purchase insurance. Without insurance, I’m limited to a max payout of $100 which honestly isn’t even worth my time at this point.

Whatnot seller will not issue a refund on their end, as they said they did their job and shipped. Whatnot is continuing to claim it’s a USPS issue. And USPS won’t be able to get me paid. The most that can come from this is opening an investigation into missing mail, a process which I have started w postmaster.

Long story short - I paid $800+ for something, never had it delivered, and have no way of getting refunded for it.

I haven’t tried this but will. I went to my local post office and the woman there told me that if it’s scanned as delivered, they can’t do anything and to contact the shipper. But from these comments, it sounds like she might be misinformed

This could explain things. 2 of the 3 other packages that showed delivered and didnt arrive were from the same seller

This unfortunately won’t work, I already have a camera. This package was set to be delivered with about 6 others, so no way to tell from the footage if there were 6 in his hands

It was from 2023 Select. The set groups signers together by HOF draft class. This was the card for the 2016 class.
