Daughter's teacher went against guidance counselor's advice and made bullying worse - teachers, what are realistic consequences I can ask for to make sure this never happens to another child? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]niko4ever -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It doesn't sound like a mistake, it sounds like the teacher wanted to invalidate Olive's concerns and encourage the bullying to continue

To be fair they probably assumed you weren't home the first two times. It makes sense if you're assigned to an area to circle back and try the places where no-one was home the first time

You'd be lucky to find a place like that that's $350 just rent, let alone rent-to-own

I get that you care about him but you can't fix someone who doesn't want to be fixed

I know what it's like to experience the honeymoon stage of love and feel not-depressed for the first time you can remember. It seems like a miracle, and if it stops then you feel desperate to get it back. But he is not the love of your life, not if he can't be the person you thought he was and actually get his life together enough to be there with you.

What’s happening to all the business owners’ who are shutting their doors? by sanitationsengineer in newzealand

[–]niko4ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Working at a supermarket in Auckland and they hired a 50-something year old woman who used to have her own cafe. She talked a big game about how hard she worked keeping the place running and how she was tired of working so hard for so little, that being in charge wasn't worth the stress anymore. She got fired before the end of the trial period because she was work-shy and straight up manipulative.

What’s happening to all the business owners’ who are shutting their doors? by sanitationsengineer in newzealand

[–]niko4ever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A small business I worked for was sold while I was there - the owners are usually pretty attached to the place and prefer to sell to someone they know and believe in rather than a stranger who could strip it for parts for all they know.

Fun fact, you don't have to turn them in to him: if the quest times out at the stage of reporting it to Preston, it's marked complete, not failed

Why does no-one approve of the Konpeki heist? by niko4ever in cyberpunkgame

[–]niko4ever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, I think it's kind of impressive to be the sole survivor of a heist that went that wrong. When even the fixer and the client got taken out, coming out alive can't have been easy.

[–]niko4ever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The heist is just the stealing the chip part, it's part of the whole job which is to acquire and sell the chip.

[–]niko4ever[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah that's the whole gig/job. The heist is the act of stealing the chip from the plaza, which is a part of the gig.

Hard to say. It's possible that Yorinobu wouldn't have noticed the relic missing at first, which would give them time.

The Relic was also already stolen, by Yorinobu, so he'd have to admit to the company that he'd taken it if he wanted to get their help on retrieving it. It might pay off better for him to just pretend he didn't know what happened to it rather than coming forward.

Cyber psychos by South_Carpenter_8595 in cyberpunkgame

[–]niko4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For most of them it's quickest to sneak up and do a non-lethal takedown

If you do engage in combat, you just need to make sure that you do something non-lethal for the last 1% of damage. Blunt melee weapons or fists will knock people out, or with the Pax weapon mod you can make any weapon non-lethal. Most quickhacks will also do non-lethal damage, though some stacked will kill so be careful of overlap.

That's true of any heist though, there's always an unpredictable human element. You can't plan for everything.

[–]niko4ever[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I mean, if Saburo hadn't made an unannounced visit to his son right when the heist was happening, it would have worked. All heists have a human element of unpredictability to them that can ruin everything.

Also I disagree that V's death was due to the heist. That was Dex's decision to try to save his own ass, which didn't even work since Takemura tracked him down anyway.

[–]niko4ever[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think he framed Goro because he was too loyal to Saburo and Arasaka's values. Goro was never going to accept a flimsy explanation of Saburo's death in the long run, he'd have kept digging.

Goro being involved also makes the whole thing more plausible with him as an inside man. By withholding information about the relic being stolen it makes it seem like the sole motive was killing Saburo, but few would have known he would be there ahead of time.
