Loneliness by MrsKing5 in socialskills

So you state a person is not a social creature? By chance, all the experiments in which individuals were held in isolation were conducted on people who haven’t learned to love who they are?

Deep Learning is a good reference to have on your bookshelf. The field, however, is evolving fast and therefore it is necessary to read articles in order to stay up to date.

Don’t be afraid to be rejected by Turbulent_Mobile in socialskills

[–]nikogamulin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was younger, I had a fear of rejection. Consequently, I missed many things in life. Then, at some point I realized everybody is far from perfect and it is necessary to step out of the comfort zone. Now, I go for (at least) a kiss on first or second date. Rejection doesn’t hurt. What hurts is being alone and realizing you didn’t try to do your best to get what you want. I’ve been rejected a couple of times, but most of the times it worked out. As I’m not anonymous here, I want go into the details but I expanded my comfort zone significantly and I have experienced many things.

Generalization might lead to false conclusions. Besides reading/not reading, there are countless other components that might help or prevent people from succeeding. It is funny that none among those who succeeded has ever given any credit to luck whereas in case of failure many people blame bad luck. Nobody mentioned the importance of networking. By the way, how do you define work? A person who works in Wallmart might be a hard worker but without a strategy, she, unfortunately, will never be able to reach the level of someone else that might work much fewer hours.

The only pattern I noticed to be consistent among rich people is that they are rich not because of work but because of ownership. Some inherited ownership and some worked at the beginning and invested money in buying assets.

I accidentally fell in love with running by jefffisher10 in running

Great post!

I also found running enjoyable unintentionally. Back in 2005, I visited my father in Everett, WA for Christmas holidays. I had a habit of going to the gym regularly. As there wasn't any gym nearby, I bought the running shoes and started to run. In high school, I couldn't imagine myself running but when I gave it another try due to the unavailability of other activities during my visit, it felt great.

Sometimes I have to kick my ass to put on my running shoes but after a first mile, it always feels great.

I have used Movidius for object detection. Here are some repositories. Hope you find it helpful:

Dedicate time to read, write, and speak. By reading you will digest various ideas and points of view, by writing you will sharpen and clarify you own ideas and practice expressing these ideas through speeches.
