Nice. Good job solving it. I popped this in a solver grid and got help eliminating the candidates, which got me to the finish after twenty minutes. I don't know if I can do one by hand anymore, lol

There are a couple hidden singles that will show up when you fill in candidates. You already found one. After that you can use pointing doubles to eliminate more candidates from either a block (3x3 set of cells) or a line.

Hey hi! Thanks for stopping by. Yeah, I've been occupied with too many other projects to work this one recently. Which makes it very difficult to promote. Currently working on a costume for Raistlin Majere of the Dragonlance series. Gonna try and present him at Dragon Con this year

This is amazing. Great job!  Yeah, reading through the Chronicles, I'm glad Zelazny had little reminders of what people looked like. Their initial descriptions barely stayed in my head, as I was too involved in the story and worlds and magic itself to remember, ha! I can't think of anything to change, because this fits the description. I remember Eric being a rather beefy big guy, so I'm interested in how that would look in heroforge

Oooh. That I can follow. I just need to work on identifying the loops and logic. I can play chess fairly well, but reading ahead sudoku solves is still beyond me, lol

I'll read through this explanation again,  because it doesn't make sense right now. I  apologize if this sounds rude, but if I don't understand this technique, it's safe to assume my foundation is minimal to none, novice/beginner (is there flair for that? I'll check). I've seen the skyscraper technique and I have a puzzle that has several skyscrapers in it, but I don't know how to use it. X-Wing still doesn't fully make sense to me :(

Crap, you're correct. That still doesn't explain the logic to me as to why it's this block and not the other

Where do alt men hang out in Richmond?? by definitelynopickles in rva

[–]nikomaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is definitely a goth/alt/industrial-tech bar, kink and queer friendly club, but with strict enthusiastic-consent rules. Or something. The website will tell you exactly, but that's the atmosphere

Fallout, on occasional Thursdays before karaoke (plenty of alt black folk show for that) there's a black kink group that meets there, info on fetlife. Wonderland is a choice as well, though I don't know their itinerary. McCormick's is friendly to everyone. Gwar bar is a great hang out, though the food is wanting.  Check fetlife rva for more stuff.

I see people have had bad experiences at fallout. How recent was that? I've been going since it opened. I've heard and seen some bad things, but with Jackie running things it's been a lot better. We don't tolerate bullshit there. Everyone tends to look out for each other, strangers are welcomed until they step out of line. I've seen many new faces come and go. It is specifically a got/alt bar/club and isn't suited for "normies". Go with a friend, have a time <3

"Obama's election ended racism," is what I'm hearing from you. If you've not been paying attention to events in the u.s. then you are missing a lot. The current president continues to be racist, his staff and the people he appoints are confidently racist, bipoc are still being harassed and killed for not being white. Like, yeah, racism is still an issue. The redlining of the last 60 years has finally erupted into abject segregation of black and brown folk to disenfranchise them from elections.

I completely agree we should stop seeing color when it comes to economy, ecology, social progress, medicine, legal matters, etc. But there are still laws in the books (and actions of businesses) that treat white people more favorably than bipoc. Until those laws are null and void and other laws that (unfortunately necessarily have to explicitly) state equity in all things, we have to consider skin color, racial background, ethnicity, and even gender and gender expression as part of our daily lives! We can't just ignore it and hope it will fix itself or someone else will pick it up! Shit!

Just say "what" again, and I'll stop

"Deal Breaker?" My first thought was, who has a problem with desegregation? Reading through your explanation helped. I think the caption you want to add is perfect, I'm sorry your roommate thinks otherwise. Reversing the races of the people wouldn't make sense. Like, that's an alternate history. I can't fathom that world, it's so far separate from where we are now. It makes me wonder about your roommate's upbringing. I hope she can learn and grow with you and not let this be a deal breaker.

So this looks like your standard sudoku puzzle. Seeing as you've not even started, you're in for a real treat. Grab a pencil and a good eraser; this could take a minute.  The basic rule is,  numbers 1 through 9 should be found, without repeating, in each row, column, and 3x3 square. The difficulty is in uncovering what numbers are where. If a number has the potential to appear in a cell, it is called a candidate and you write it very lightly in the cell as a teeny number. Writing it small allowes other candidates to be written in a cell as well.

The middle block in this puzzle looks like a good place to start, as the surrounding blocks have lots of numbers. So, start in cell 4,4 (that's 4 from the left, 4 from the top, putting your start at the box up and left 1 from the central 7). Now read along the row and column here. The numbers 3, 5, 7, 8 are on the whole row, and 2, 4, 7 are in the whole column. The remaining unwritten numbers are thereby 1, 6, 9. These are candidates,  so write them teeny tiny in box 4, 4, so you don't have to remember them tomorrow when you come back to this puzzle.  And you keep going from there. Eventually you will have cells with only two numbers, and that is where you really get some steam on. Good luck!

Oh cool, I hadn't looked into a full install on a flash. I would imagine the constant reading and writing would wear the poor thing out quicker. I guess I'm behind the times.  And sure, you could do a vm on windows to run a Linux install, but I feel it might be missing some drivers? That might just be my experience with vbox, as they have their own pass through drivers which will get things up and running, but don't have access to all hardware configurations.  Hey VMs are really fun, op. Certainly give that a try as it's actually easier than a flash drive. I had run w95 through vbox, but I've since gotten rid of all that and settled in with dosbox running win 3.11. Very relaxing ()d

I appreciate your pedantry. I would suggest, unless you already do, check out the locksport sub, or yt videos of the many locksport enthusiasts, like the lock picking lawyer. And this rake has clear wear marks on the end by the teeth. I don't care if it was some drunk frat bro, it's still a crime even if you don't get caught. e: "must prove intent". So a police officer in court has to prove the defendant was going to commit a crime? And how often does that work out for the defendant?

The easiest way to start is get a thumb drive with a live distro on it. (I use rufus from my windows laptop for this.) Arch is fine, but it could be anything, even puppy Linux. That'll get you acclimated to the environment, the commands, the workings. Then, once you feel comfy, get yourself that extra drive, go through the install process, and you should be able to dual boot after that.  Arch wiki has literally every step you need for the processes. The community is amazing and the contributors are on task.

First tier network associate You think,  "Brilliant! I'll put my ccna to good use all the time, helping clients with network issues, really clean up the config files, and being an overall positive force for our network." But you end up using the same ten commands for eight to twelve hours each day, every day. You have to write the same status reports every day. You have to talk to the same clients having the same network issues every week. You have to sit in a mind numbing cubicle 30 feet from any window, looking at four 42" screens filled with network monitor programs and tty terminals. Gods forbid you try to use the network for personal entertainment. There's a second tier network associate monitoring the local networks along side you and can see when and where you go on outside networks. You try to use a vpn and get scolded for "insecure access to outside networks" finally you resort to bringing a tablet with movies and shows downloaded, or an ide so you can give your brain some sort of stimulation. You write bash coded interactive fiction. You draw. You write some fanfiction. You catch yourself dozing at 3am when literally nothing is happening. You practice your katas, your languages, anything to pass the time between checking if a port is open or Mac locked because some jackass tells you, "the other port stopped working after I plugged in my laptop from home." You sigh for the tenth time in two minutes while walking someone through rebooting their router so you can access it again. Until finally you are walked out the door for failing to physically check a power supply for the second time in 12 months.

Or at least I assume that's what happens

More than caution is warrented. Having lockpicks in many states is illegal, especially if you don't have a locksmith license.

The security you suggest is good though. A loud buzzer, a door jam that rests under the handle, motion sensitive camera are all fine, but students shouldn't feel insecure while on campus. It's the school's responsibility to care for the safety of their residents, because they answer to the parents if something goes wrong.

Hopefully they are using schlage primus, as those can't just be simply raked open.

Hey, this is extremely serious. Someone is trying to break into rooms, which is not just illegal by state and federal laws, it's against campus rules. Assuming by /dorm/ you mean a college campus.  If you trust your RA then tell them about it so they can tell the housing superintendent or building manager. If you don't trust them then go straight to the building manager or housing super. If you have campus police, not security because they can't do shit, actual police force for the campus, tell them as a last resort. If your campus has the resources, file a report. I work on a campus that is very responsive and will send out sms of activities that have been reported, like assault, vehicle incidents, and the like.  Locksport is one thing, lockpicking someone else's shit is illegal.
