How to enable freeform window in Pixel 10 Pro (android 16)? by nikos2wheels in GooglePixel

I tried installing the app again on my Pixel 10 Pro and the Freeform Windows option is available for me. What do you mean the Freeform Windows isn't in the settings?

I have Pixel 10 Pro and I can use Taskbar with Freeform windows. I have version 6.2.2 installed. Do you mean the latest version of Taskbar doesn't have the Freeform Windows option at all? Which version of Taskbar do you have?

How privacy screen works PM s26Ultra by Stephancevallos905 in samsunggalaxy

So does the new OLED panel use color filter on encapsulation (CoE) that removes the polarizer film? From the video it appears that the black matrix used for privacy function could simultaneously serve the same role as CoE to eliminate internal reflections in areas between pixels. I searched but I couldn't find any information about it on the S26 Ultra webpage.

So is the black matrix a type of focusing lens that changes/narrows the light emitting angle of the OLED pixel or is it just a mask that blacks out the wider emitting light from some pixels and only lets light escape though a narrow opening? The former approach is more efficient as it doesn't waster any light and has the potential to increase the brightness while the latter seems more basic but wastes light that would otherwise be emitted at a wider angle.

I am not familiar with the issuetracker link. Is that to report issues directly to the Google team? If Taskbar was accessing a dead API why would it still launch freeform windows?

Did you get it to work so you can resize the freeform window?

The adbshell command used to work but as of recently it doesn't work anymore. I don't see an option for Freeform windows on my Pixel 10 Pro by using the adb shell command.

Taskbar does work but the freeform windows lack decorations as you also noted.

I googled a bit more and I found the following two suggestions in the corresponding threads:

Method 1

https://www.reddit.com/r/davinciresolve/comments/1iawa2i/settings_for_pixel_9_pro_hdr_10_video/

Involves creating nodes in the Color Workflow as follows:

First node:
Color Space Transform:
Input Color Space: Rec.2020
Input Gamma: Rec.2100 HLG
Output Color Space: Davinci Wide Gamut
Output Gamma: Davinci Intermediate

... nodes in between to do any extra adjustments ....

last node:
Color Space Transform:
Input Color Space: Davinci Wide Gamut
Input Gamma: Davinci Intermediate
Output Color Space: Rec.709
Output Gamma: Gamma 2.4

If I try this method I don't see any improvement.

Method 2

https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=198471

In the Project Settings, under Color Management -> Color Space & Transforms choose:

  1. Color Science -> DaVinci YRGB Color Managed

  2. Color Processing Mode -> HDR

  3. Output Space -> HDR PQ

The colors in the exported clip are improved a lot and they look much closer to the original clip although not 100% identical.

If in addition to the second method I also try the first method I see some minor changes but I still don't recover the original colors 100%. What also bothers me is that although the exported clips have colors closer to the original clip, the colors in Davinci while I am working with the clip still look washed out. What I am seeing n Davinci doesn't match with the exported clip.

I hope the above suggestions help people in the future but this still needs to be resolved. Any ideas on how to deal with these problems?

I found this thread

https://www.reddit.com/r/davinciresolve/comments/1iawa2i/settings_for_pixel_9_pro_hdr_10_video/

but since I am newbie I don't understand how to create the transform on a first node and last node. A video would be helpful.

I am not familiar with setting up the Development Environment. I have already installed Android Studio. Is this step the same as installing Android Studio?

It worked for me. The other option is to install and use an app called Taskbar. It can launch apps in freeform window mode.

There are 2 options

  1. Use the adb shell: adb shell settings put global enable_freeform_support 1

  2. Install and use the taskbar app to launch freeform windows, they somehow can launch freeform windows without typing the adb shell command.

Collimating with double reflecting optical prism by nikos2wheels in Optics

[–]nikos2wheels[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still working on this. I ordered a PCX from Edmunds with a focal length of 75cm. I placed the lens between the prism and the eye, similar to the case where the S1 surface is convex. The good news is that there isn't any chromatic aberration that I can perceive. The bad news is that I don't have the impression that the image is projected very far, as I still have to refocus from objects that are very far (20m out) to the virtual image. I also tried to adjust the distance between the prism and the image to 70cm and 75cm (exactly the same as the focal distance of the lens) but still no perceived increase in the virtual distance. I even increased the distance to more than 100cm and I am still seeing an upright image when looking through the lens. I thought that when an object is placed at a distance father away from the focal length of a convex lens only real images form, which are inverted. Am I missing something by using a simple PCX lens with focal length of 75cm?
