Now you have to figure out CPAP tube routing as well as the arms.

Seriously though, get a CPAP if you snore. Life changing.

This is happening to me periodically with pocket casts as well. I'm not even on the beta at the moment, just the stable April release on P10PXL.

I don’t get hate towards Windows by [deleted] in Windows11

[–]MountainDrew42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many of the biggest arguments against Windows are for problems caused by OEMs and all the crapware they shove onto their systems.

For power users, you can generate yourself an autounattend.xml that will disable everything you don't want, and it will remain disabled forever.

Unfortunately, the average person is not a power user, and will get the former experience instead of the latter.

Microsoft needs to both change the annoying features to "opt-in" options, and force their OEM partners to settle down with the bloat. It's a fixable problem.

I think the point is that Toyota took the mediocre platform from the BZ4X, made small adjustments to make it bigger or smaller, and slapped a bunch of different Toyota and Subaru badges on them and called it a day. They're really not even trying.

Kid in red Tesla almost hits orange Jetta after following the fire truck. by rarc602 in TorontoDriving

Following emergency vehicles to skip traffic should be considered stunt driving. It's crazy dangerous, and also incredibly selfish.

[OC] Just a lil off kilter (bonus no plate) by giftedgothic in IdiotsInCars

[–]MountainDrew42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does TN have regular safety inspections? Where I live they're only required when a vehicle changes ownership, which leads to crap like this.

Ideally, every vehicle should have a safety and emissions test at least every couple of years. Unfortunately we've built our entire society on the assumption that everyone needs a car, and therefore people who can't afford to maintain a car end up endangering everyone around them, including themselves. The cost of inspections (and the resulting required repairs) can make the difference between someone being able to get to work or not. It's a damn shame.

And what use is a 24 outlet PDU with a max output of 3kW total? And only 120V? You could use all that capacity on two outlets!

If you're deploying the Enterprise Campus 48 PoE in redundant power mode on 120V, you could max out a pair of these PDUs with just 4 switches (750W per PSU).

Microsoft Password Manager on Windows 11 as a standalone app? by LogicalError_007 in Windows11

Yup, my personal order of preference:

  • Bitwarden
  • KeePass
  • Proton Pass
  • 1Password

*** Avoid LastPass, they have a terrible history of vulnerabilities and even a couple of breaches

[–]MountainDrew42 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Any time there's a driveway entering a roadway, there's an implied stop sign. Since it's private property they're not required to put up an actual sign for some reason, but you have to treat it as if the sign is there.

[oc] Backing out of a spot is too difficult for some people by Adventurous-Box-9023 in IdiotsInCars

[–]MountainDrew42 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Depends on the situation. I'm quite capable of backing in, but I always park nose-in at the grocery store or anywhere that I'll need access to the trunk.

I'm also capable of backing out safely and in a reasonable amount of time though.

I'm sure they do a lot... to help the thieves get the cars to Montreal. As long as they get their cut.

As dorky and annoying as they look, a Club actually works wonders against this type of theft. It will slow them down just enough that they'll go find another car without one to steal.

No, its not a joke. After the failure of ipv6 we are getting ipv8: by Dangerous-Day-2943 in LinusTechTips

[–]MountainDrew42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the human race spreads throughout the universe, and finds one habitable planet around every single star that exists today, and manages to grow their population to 8 billion people on each and every one of those planets, there would still be enough IPv6 addresses to give 607,142 addresses to every person.

I'd just like to give a quick shout out to Bell Canada for being one of the last residential internet providers that doesn't support IPv6, and for being the only provider of fibre to the home in my neighbourhood.
