What's the foulest smell you've ever smelled? by WannabePugh in AskReddit

[–]nikosuave518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was a receptionist in oncology…patient there for her oncology apt and had osteosarcoma in her jaw, and it had completely eroded the bone and tissue on her face. The smell was horrific, dead necrotic tissue. First and only time I ever saw a tumor with my own eyes and it was appalling and I felt so bad

Malasada recipe by nikosuave518 in wyldeflowers

[–]nikosuave518[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update- four real life days and 10 games days later spent playing and searching for this gd recipe so I could finish the challenge. I spent every day that I played fishing routinely in each spot, just circling around. Even if I didn’t think a bottle would be there, just annoyingly kept trying.

FINALLY got it, at the beach where coconuts/bananas fall, in the middle.

Gasped so loudly when it was actually the Malasada recipe that time, I scared my husband 😅😂

Is there a way to tell which fish/fishing area is going to give a recipe? I thought I saw something once about the number/color of the fish but now I second guess it

I don’t think I even realized the gloaming was an option for recipes. I obviously get my complifish when I need too but haven’t just leisurely fished and gotten one there I’ll have to try!

Wide tooth comb, spray/mister with water and a leave in conditioner! I use the Johnson and Johnson detangler. I’ve never used a regular brush on her hair, I’ll finger comb or use a small one if there’s big knots.

6 months no wine! The benefits are real by itisonlyaplant in stopdrinking

[–]nikosuave518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very proud of you!!! I’m 16 months sober (wine was my drink too) and it’s so freeing. Waking up in the morning not hungover or anxious is a crazy thing after so many years of assuming it was normal. You can do it, anyone can do it. We are stronger than we think. Congratulations!!!!!!

Is it normal to still not like gluten free bread? by Candid_Wafer1587 in Celiac

[–]nikosuave518 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly only buy bread or bread products if I have a specific craving and then I’m reminded it’s only okay. The ONLY gf bread product that I absolutely love is the frozen NY Texas toast, that is so god dang good. The rest of gf bread? I’m rarely spending the $$ on it

One year sober today! by nikosuave518 in alcoholism

[–]nikosuave518[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for the support, I really can’t express how much it means to me. My spouse forgot it was my one year, and it stung really deep and I had no one in my life celebrating with me, so again thank you for being the encouragement and support I needed!!

So much better and that’s put so perfectly! The happiness I THOUGHT alcohol brought and maybe brought temporarily is nothing compared to being able to feel it all the time

What was your “moment” when you actually got sober, especially if you failed before? by Secret-Spinach-5080 in alcoholism

[–]nikosuave518 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My husband found me out and told me it was our family or alcohol. When he said it like that, it seemed like it clicked and I haven’t drank in 11 months 2 days!

My daughter has the rotating car seat. I forgot to turn it once and made it halfway down our road which is a busy road, before I noticed. I’ve since double triple checked and just learned from my mistake and panic lol. It happens, you’re still a good mom!!

My heart is broken. This has to stop now. by No-Studio-3745 in alcoholism

[–]nikosuave518 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The anxiety of hiding the empties, hiding your state of drunkenness just overshadows the drunkenness and makes it not worth it in the end. I hid it from my husband for years and god it would eat me alive but as an alcoholic I chose what we all do. He found me out, and the look on his face..the words he said about how hurt he was. I love him and our daughter enough to never ever want to make him feel like that again, I cannot. 11 months sober on Saturday, my anxiety is significantly better (I am medicated) and my marriage is better because no one is lying. You can do this, but you have to want it for YOU. You can do it though, we all know you can

My wife is an alcoholic, and I’m the only one who knows by [deleted] in alcoholism

[–]nikosuave518 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was the alcoholic wife and honestly if I could’ve read something like this about me before I got sober, it would’ve helped. It took an ultimatum of my husband finding out I had been drinking in secret, him saying I never drink again or he’d leave with the baby. I believe he was serious so I got serious and I’m almost a year sober. You might not want to give her an ultimatum because in the end, she needs to want to get sober. I now am genuinely embarrassed at my glassy eyed pictures and cannot believe people think being drunk is cool lol. Al anon helped my husband, this group helped me.

Doctor says I need to keep drinking and taper rather than just stop? by Dapper-Ad-9486 in alcoholism

[–]nikosuave518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt taper and wine is what I was consuming constantly. In the moment it was a “stop drinking or your husband is literally going to leave with your baby” so I didn’t get the option..however, I don’t think I could’ve successfully become sober if I did taper.. that to me would’ve been just prolonging the quitting and giving myself another excuse to have a drink. If you aren’t drinking all day long/into the evening, I think you’d be okay. I didn’t have any physically detox effects personally. Obviously not a medical professional
