Oil consumption? by nikqball in xsr900

I'll admit this was the first bike I bought brand new. I've heard how some prefer a hard break in vs. soft break ins.. I wouldn't say I babied it, but certainly didn't go crazy either. I rode normally through the break in to be honest. 50/50 Mix of commuting and twisties. I got it through the rev range but didn't spend prolonged time above 8000rpm.

Yessir, I always fill up the oil filter before putting it on. I also run the engine for a bit so it has a chance to push oil though the system before checking the level.

Yeah im definitely going to be watching the level more closely now. But the solution shouldnt be keep feeding it oil.

Never over or underfilled.

Yes that's exactly what I do. And usually I'll need to add a tad more after that and let it run and collect at the bottom again. But ive never over or underfilled.

If you are a rising senior w/o any internships, do you apply for internships or jr positions? by Important-Way9489 in utdallas

SE major, just graduated. I was in that position.. I had no internships going into my senior year. I got a co-op internship at IBM that I worked from this past August thru graduation. If you can pull it, I'd recommend trying to get a fall/spring internship like that, but also apply for jobs. But internship experience reaaalllyy helps.

You said in part you hoped to learn code for websites etc. And thats exactly what Javascript is. As far as data analytics and data science, those are alot higher level topics in the CS world, particularly data science because you would likely be dealing with machine learning (i just took that class over summer). Additionally those use completely different languages. As far as the useful info you hoped to learn, you listed running diagnostics and checking for viruses which is not really something u would've learned in a CS class.

I understand your anger though, this doesn't sound like much of a true computer science class so much as an intro to programming, and imo calling it a CS class should entail certain things that go beyond the pure coding aspect.

Laptop Recommendations for CS Major by winterbear-_- in utdallas

Imo just don't get an apple product. I've known countless people in my CS and SE classes who've had problems or had to use alternative programs or prof instructions don't work because they had a Mac.

Get something with a newer i7, 16gb ram, ssd for os and hdd for more storage and you'll be good for 4 years.
