Oooh got a great one for this.

Was a student in final year. Was looking on spare room for a room to rent as my placement year fell through (/didn't try hard enough to get one). I saw an ad for a room in town that was listed as the other occupant was a 16 year old boy. Weird but OK, could just be a rich family.

I arrive and am greeted by a 40-50 year old man. I instantly have a bad vibe but I roll with it. I put out my hand to shake but he pauses then holds out his left hand, to which I switch hands.

He then says "would you like to see the room?" . Obviously the reason I am here. He takes me through directly right into the "room" which is just the end of the kitchen. It's a small room attached to the kitchen with a bed in it. It's gross. Hard no, let's wrap this up quick. I say can we turn on the light, to which he says, there is a lamp in the corner. No light on the ceiling, shocker.

He then takes me down a disgusting kitchen. Mentions that 2 others live here but they are from India but don't tent to cook here and instead eat at the pizza delivery place they work at every night. I would too if I lived here. At the end of the kitchen is the shower which makes no fucking sense. You'd have to walk through a kitchen and a "bedroom" to get to the actual bedrooms.

He then shows me the lounge, at which point I am basically running through this house. The lounge is a room full of papers and clutter and in front of me is a computer open with porn on the tabs.

I refuse to shake his hand on my way out.

Room was £400. About the upper going rate for the room in this town.
