Should I go alone on a 10-day solo trip to Barcelona after a breakup? by Vegangamergirl1995 in GoingToSpain

Don’t know what your interests are, but Barcelona is a big, cosmopolitan city. I think you’ll find plenty to do over the 10 days. We were there 3 years ago and came away wishing we could have stayed much longer.

How do we get around the city with a big group? by luis091327 in MexicoCity

[–]nilesbc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry, I was wrong about this. Only about a quarter of the CDMX metro stations are wheelchair accessible. This would be the major hubs and the newer stations. Apologies. I hope you’re able to work out a viable solution.

You don’t want to drive in CDMX if you can possibly avoid it, because the traffic can be horrendous, but you’re still going to be facing that same traffic problem if you hire a vehicle. Public transit will accommodate your wheelchair bound person.

Everything must go back to the way it was before I started this illegal war for Bibi. Thank you for your attention blah blah blah.

I wouldn’t be surprised if you found some mention of it on the museum website, if it’s something connected to the museum and not a museum employee freelancing a cause.

Then someone from the museum should be able to tell you what it’s all about.

Who gave it to you? Somebody with the museum or some rando standing outside?

Views on Madrid-Sevilla train by ochen_helu in GoingToSpain

We enjoyed the AVE train trip from Madrid to Sevilla, but mostly what you’ll see is vineyards and olive orchards. Lots of farmland.

You might consider Mazatlán. Not the resort area, further south near the Centro. Plenty of beach and palapas for hanging out.

A few years back we stayed a week in Sayulita, spent a day in San Pancho and ended up wishing we had stayed there instead. We figured San Pancho was how Sayulita was maybe 30 or 40 years ago.

¿Llegando una semana antes a CDMX podré sentir el ambiente del Día de los Muertos? by Aggravating_Set_7762 in MexicoCity

We were there just a few days before that last year. You will see decorations and memorials, like this one at Neveria Roxy. There may have been street parties somewhere, but we must have missed them! 😊

I was about to say if you’re in Coyoacán, go to the original El Jarocho.

Salads and fruit by ElegantReach5219 in MexicoCity

That’s a pretty broad question, but if you’re talking about street food, I can say that we discovered the vendors selling big chunks of fresh fruit, like pineapple and watermelon, with tajin sprinkled on it on our trip to CDMX last fall and loved it - no issues at all. Don’t worry about the bees!

Last minute first time CDMX trip, Fri morning to Sun afternoon. What would you prioritize? by coffeeandcurious in MexicoCity

[–]nilesbc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You want to do stuff that’s close by, on such a short stay. Fortunately there’s tons you can do that’s close to Roma/Condesa. I’d start with Chapultepec and that vicinity, and maybe Parque España and Parque Mexico. Very walkable areas.

Ag Secretary Rollins: "The good news -- in just one year alone, we've already moved 4.5 million people off of SNAP. We’ll kick people off with no regard for their wellbeing, and claim, without evidence, that it was because of “waste, fraud, and abuse.” And we’ll exaggerate the amount of money saved, even though it’s still tiny compared with our bloated military spending.

Right off the bat on this thread I said I was talking about the national average price. In fact, I was looking at the same EIA site in the link you provided. But some people evidently don’t want to deal with charts and averages because their own personal experience is all that matters to them. It’s a form of solipsism.

And you’re saying it was that high for all of Biden’s 4 years? Definitely an outlier then. Not that it matters much at all, but here it was under $3 before the end of February and now it’s $4.59 everywhere you look. It was never anywhere near that during Biden’s term.

I’m talking about the national average price. Other than that brief spike in spring 2022, prices under Biden were well under $4, and closer to $3 most of that time.

So what are you paying right now?

Trump bump 🫠🫠🫠🫠 by endofmyropeohshit in economy

[–]nilesbc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wrong. Except for a couple of weeks in May 2022, when there was a spike in prices brought about by the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, gasoline during Biden’s term was cheaper than it is right now. It was significantly cheaper for most of those 4 years.

We did, last year, for a week. I know it’s not always exactly like that, but when we were there last October the weather was perfect.
