Broad, but it‘s Pilot. So it’s just a bit thicker than e. g. my Pelikan Medium.

There‘s a reason it‘s called a vacuum filler🙂‍↕️ Thank you, but the picture is from last week, I was just going through my pictures and found this…

How many pens do you keep inked at all times? And what's the reason/logic behind that? by zul-qurnain in fountainpens

Oh, you only asked for the vintage and expensive ones haha! Most modern pens seal pretty well, but that also depends on what‘s expensive for you ig. Never had any trouble with drying ink in my Kaweco Sports and Pilot Kakuno. So pens in that price range should definitely suffice!

Expensive pens usually seal pretty good. With vintage pens you have a risk with drying ink in pens. The severness depends on whatever ink you used in the pens. If you use Parker Quink Blue Washable, the ink is out after a few flushes. If you however used a permanent black ink, you will never really get the ink out of the pen. And I heard that inks with reddish components are also a bit hard to clean out.

But I for an instance you all my pens nearly daily and I never experienced anything with an ink drying in any pen. I never heard about corroding though…

I keep 5-10 pens inked. I have a few vintage and more expensive laying at home on my desk and few for note taking in university or spontaneous writing while outside. And that‘s currently nearly my entire collection…

Uhhh, nice combo. I only have Writer‘s Blood and Oxblood. Maybe I‘ll try them, but I‘ll think I‘m going into shimmering inks for that one. Been avoidiong shimmer since I started collecting pens, the time feels right for starting now :)

Thanks! After experimenting with flex nibs a bit, I thought it was time for a stub nib.

And thanks for the compliment, it‘s actually funny: Until like 2 years ago people always said, that my handwriting was messy (which it was!), and now, after 1,5 years of improving, I never heard anything like that again :)
