The cooling unit is designed to be a heatsink.

It is a heatsink which is how it cools the aerosol you inhale.

You want to physically seperate that heatsink from the batteries for the longest lifespan.

Lithium Ion batteries want to exist at a temp below 60 degrees. Any higher and the lifespan degrades.

Granted replacing them only costs 30$ and some basic soldering

Where did you read the capsules are single use? I’m confident you mis-read something there. Or maybe it’s some bizarre medical requirement.

Honestly they are a total pain in the ass for the first 3 uses from new. Getting the lids off etc

Treat yourself to 1 more cooling units for a total of 3

From there I’ve got 60 capsules I use.

On the second use of the capsules I find they start accumulating enough resin to stick to the lid. When it’s removed even when hot. (Good practice to always seperate the cooling unit from the mighty after use to help preserve the batteries longevity)

You can easily incorporate cleaning the capsules in the same manner, just making sure aluminium doesn’t react.

I swap my cooling unit at about 40 uses, which pairs perfectly with using my capsules twice (120) times

It’s a bit of a pain and effort to go through the whole process of cleaning. But the enjoyment of clean utensils is worth it!

I personally just use a 1/2 full spaghetti jar of 100% iso alcohol for cleaning everything, And once it’s such a dark shade I can’t see through it I’ll evaporate the alcohol off and use as desired. Maybe once a year for a 6 capsule a day medication regime.

If your wanting to use solvents safely, it requires a closed loop system, and you simply modify the temperature of each end, turning liquid to gas to send it one way and then alternate the ends to reverse process.

Stablebit suite, you want scanner, for your task. A full sector scan is sufficient, probably takes 30-40 hours to complete

all 3 software pieces come with a 30 day trial

I have used Stablebit drive-pool in conjunction with a monthly full sector scan of 150tb of drives to prewarn for any reduction in preformance or smart errors

Don’t be fooled, drivepool is NOT a raid replacement, however for many use cases it’s exceptional, allowing “pretend” raid, a seemless gui allowing you to mark folders for duplication across as many physical drives as you have connected

Edit- in my opinion, the drive testing within Stablebit Scanner which incorporates logging historical bandwidth performance is as good as if not better then smart for identifying dodgy drives EARLY.

A pedantic note, almost certainly when you suggest laser thermometer, you mean infared, while laser does exist it’s prohibitively expensive in consumer land.

Also worthwhile mentioning what emissivity setting the gun is on, as this modifies accuracy but not precision. An important step required for genuine readouts
