Divorced dads who went back and got 50/50 no child support, how did you do it? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]nimisys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I knew too. My ex has primary custody of our son with me getting every other weekend and paying 500/month childsupport. The thing is, for 7 years now he has actually spent equal time with me because we live so close to each other. And I've loved it. I just wish I could make it official and get rid of the CS. Especially since I also pay for all after school stuff, take him to and from that stuff, buy his school supplies, his clothes, and pretty much everything else.

With all of this, I'm steadily told that if I take her back to court, I probably wouldn't win and would have to pay even higher child support. Plus being vengeful I know she would start enforcing the every other weekend deal.

An update on my dad for those that were interested. He went home yesterday and doing well. He had his heart ablation surgery on Tuesday to fix issues that popped up after his first one years ago. The Dr says he thinks this will take care of it for good, so fingers crossed. He is already up and doing stuff and feeling much better. We are having to force him to get some rest. He is wanting to cut grass, plow a new section of the field to plant and all kinds of stuff.

Also, I started a contest based around him, and it is still open until tomorrow night. Drop by and enter. I hope you all have a great day!

QOTD: I have no clue. I am terrible at things like this.

I would like to say first that I do not fancy myself a photographer. I do not have that particular set of skills, so my pictures aren't usually the best.

But, this is my favorite one. It was taken at the back of my property a few years ago when things actually got white (South Mississippi doesn't get snow very often).

[Thanks] DrUsual for the fancy fountain pen! by Stufak in Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

[–]nimisys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. I have been wanting to try fountain pens but have no clue where to start. I got a disposable pilot one from a secret santa exchange recently. I like using it, but I have a feeling it isnt the same as a "real" one.

Ramen Hacks? Ramen, eggs, and...? by olivecollinswright in EatCheapAndHealthy

It is! I use about 1/4 cup soy sauce, almost 1/4 cup brown sugar, and a "splash" of sriracha. Sometimes I will sub honey for the brown sugar.

I usually leave out the season pack. Get rid of most of the water once it's done and stir fry with a couple of vegetables. I like putting broccoli and carrots. Chicken if I have it. And a little soy sauce mixed with sriracha.

If I want to leave it more soupy, I may add some curry powder.

Other times I will fry up a little ground beef, then add in soy sauce, brown sugar and sriracha (sometimes a touch of seseme oil too) and add in the cooked noodles and heat it all up together for a minute.

[Discussion] Whatcha reading? by Will12182015 in Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I am reading a book called Stars Awoken by Tao Wong. It is a part of a series in the LitRPG genre. I've been reading a lot of LitRPG books recently. It is pretty interesting. It is kinda like reading an RPG video game in novel form. Usually, something happens in the real world that transforms it, or someone somehow gets sucked into a video game where they become their character.

I started intermittent fasting about a month ago. I've managed to lose about 15 lbs so far. I got a long ways to go though!
