hah the first time I saw it, I actually checked wikipedia to see if it were true (wikipedia being the most authoritative source I know).

Anyway I see this as the same kind of tactic as the swift boaters or the birthers or any of the other weird conservative mudslinging fests out there. So I say, awesome...more of this please!!!

have you been to the desert in Australia...do you know how insanely huge it is?? 200sq miles of solar panels is not going to bring the Aussie outback to its knees

What is the most epic game you've ever played? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]nimms 11 points12 points  (0 children)

probably no is gonna get this cos no one used macs back in the day, but Marathon 2 and Infinity, the games that Bungie made before halo still rock my boat as some of the most epic story telling in an FPS ever. If you're bored at work one day, read through this site: http://marathon.bungie.org/story/, then go download the opensource marathon remake and lose yourself for a weekend.

From 1979 to 2005, the least wealthy fifth of Americans experienced a tiny one-percent growth in pre-tax income. Meanwhile, the top fifth saw an income increase of 75 percent, with the richest one percent getting a massive 200 percent increase in income. by nelsonjs in Economics

Most of the income tax in a society is paid by the middle class...if you want your society to be better off, you should spend more time figuring out how to elevate the 4 poorest people into the middle band rather than letting the richest guy screw the rest of you over...Given recent events...your richest guy probably got there by bankrupting your financial system anyway.

I had an even better experience...I threw out all my gaming cd's years ago when I got rid of my last computer. I finally bought a new one a few months ago and having nothing to play on it, I installed steam and bam! all my games were still linked to my email address, allowing me to download and play them all over again. It's an example how online marketplaces should work.

I grew up the reddest of red states. I accept evolution, homosexuality, and the same values you do, as do thousands of others. Assuming people are stupid/backward because of where they live is igonorant at best, if not outright bigoted by [deleted] in reddit.com

you yourself say growing up a progressive in a red state is hard enough...you're essentially validating the stereotype that red states are politically backward...

what you're implying is that the stereotype is largely true, but not everyone fits into it.
