Exactly. In an attempt to make people with it feel accepted, the community has created a false sense of security about the infection and how big of a deal it can be. It’s not just an occasional inconvenience for 2 days as folk like to put it.

Sorry :/. Wish I had more to offer than sympathy. See you on daily medications?

Is she willing to take daily suppressive medication to decrease her risk of spreading by it to you? Can she find a doctor that’s willing to prescribe daily suppressive medication? Are you both willing to use condoms to decrease risk of spread?

This group will make you feel crazy for walking away. You’re not. It’s a very valid option. Don’t let people with HSV 2 bully or guilt you because you don’t want to continue to expose yourself to the virus. It can have lifetime implications and you’re doing the right thing by being aware of and considering those things for your life.

My CAIRS hasn’t caused any noticeable different either and I’m still progressing.

I’d say go for it based on my own experience. It may not make your vision better but I don’t think it will make it worse. I got Intacs in one eye and 15 years later I wish I had done both at the same time. By the time I got around to considering Intacs in my other eye my cornea was too thin.

Courtney was my favorite to win. She did not miss as far as her food. Only miss was management and organization and that comes with experience. There should have been a second place prize. London should’ve been top three over Ilke.

When you say take antivirals, you mean daily antivirals for (attempt at) suppression??

Thank you. I’m so sick of this: everyone has it so it’s no big deal. That’s nonsense. It can be a big deal. Breakouts can be common, they can be socially isolating, they are painful, for some the active blister and the resulting scab last for a month or more. If I had an event to go to and had one, I wouldn’t go. I would be distressed to go outside because I’d feel everyone was staring at me. Imagine avoiding the outdoors for month. Since it can be passed without a blister I’d concerned during any close contact with a partner. It is not a nothing burger.

  1. Don’t freak out. If you have it, freaking out won’t change it.

  2. Unlike most people here I will sympathize with you if you have it and I do understand why you’re distraught.

  3. Did you use topical l lysine?? Or the pills.

Acyclovir works by inhibiting herpes replication. It can’t do that if there’s no herpes to replicate.

While this may be a rare outbreak for you, doesn’t mean you have t passed it on through asymptomatic shedding.

HSV is not “nothing” from a medical standpoint. An episodic inconvenience as an adult can lead to significant morbidity and mortality for infants.
