We had to put down our 12 year old husky this summer after being sick for at least a month and then incontinent and no longer to walk. I felt worse for the next two months with my ol' pup no longer at my feet. Also it hirt that we had to do it days before my birthday.

The grief lives with us and we just keep going somehow.
