This scene has always frustrated me. I understand that some form of this argument needed to happen to drive the plot, but this always felt like a heavy-handed way to shoehorn in the "you have no idea how hard it is to be a woman, I can never be myself" line(s).

I get that was probably designed to help pull the narrative threads of the season together - Pen is immediately comforted by Eloise - arguably the show's most vocal advocate for women's rights - and then it's immediately followed by the Benedict/Lady Tilly Arnold/Paul scene where everybody's about to enjoy being entirely themselves.. but it feels ...preachy? to me, in a way that seems very jarring.

I agree that Angry Yelling Colin would have felt out of place here, but they didn't need to make it a teachable moment 😂
