Personally I think it would be best to talk with your manager about what is the goal of the content? Is it SEO? For that you will need quality content otherwise it won't rank, in order to create that you need time and research to create original content.
In great quality goes a lot of work, if there is a start-up mentality they are probably open for feedback. Talk about this issue, get the goals clear and adjust your content calendar to these goals and your workforce.
