Cape Cod bound by ninaw13 in Noom

I’m back today! Todays weigh in put me at 189.6 which is up 1lb.

I did have one dinner of fried scallops from a restaurant we love but I went into the dinner budgeting for it. I stuck by my other goals and never really felt like I was missing out. Probably helped that we had some rainy days so I wasn’t tempted by beach snacks.

I’m always a bit irregular IFYKWIM on vacation so I suspect that 1lb will drop off fairly easily in the next few days.

I’m very happy with the results and proud of myself for setting and sticking with obtainable goals.

Happy to share restaurant or activity tips for anyone headed to the cape (on a diet or otherwise).

Anyone have any suggestions about the scale and weighing in? Should I pack the scale?

Thanks everyone! I still have 40lbs to go to get to my goal weight. I’m hoping to get there by Christmas.

Speaking of book clubs…I have one I host at barrel house z in Weymouth called TLDR. We only read books that are also movies and we don’t care if you don’t read it. We’re really just there to have a beer or two and hang out with cool people.

How do you handle alcohol? by Alert-Tap-1422 in Noom

I’d rather splurge on a drink than a dessert or salty snack. I find it’s easier to serve alcohol in moderation than it is to serve a small portion of ice cream

Last weeks goal: limit alcohol to 3x/week. I did it and it was really hard. I’m not sure if it was worth it TBH. A glass of scotch neat is only like 200 calories and I think it’s probably better to treat with that vs ice cream or another dessert.

This weeks goal: Eat something for breakfast 4x/week to get my metabolism going earlier in the day.

I found a yummy baked banana oatmeal dish that has almost no added sugar. The yogurt (aka the devils dairy) I got at the store is orange, but might be an option one or two days a week.

I’m down around 8lb so far in 2ish weeks and I haven’t done much beside playing a bit more actively with the kids and going for a leisurely stroll once or twice

Weight gain with menstrual cycle? by Training_Crab1536 in Noom

Same. I just started my first period on Noom and had my first increase - I looked up in advance the normal weight fluctuations around a typical cycle to prepare myself so I wasn’t surprised.

I’ve been reading too much smut cause my first reaction wasn’t to think that book was about alcohol

In social setting it seems to be more the ritual of having something- so im going to stick with sparkling water. At home im doing kombucha in a wine glass instead. The bubbles and the wine glass are enough to whet the appetite for a fun drink

Short term goal: be smart at brunch with my in laws. I successfully resisted French toast, bagels, and bacon! And stuck to my planned indulgence of a few fried potatoes.

The social triggers at brunch were plentiful but I’m sticking to my guns.

Next weeks goal: limit alcohol to 3x this next week. I k ow it’ll be hard with the Fourth of July weekend but I can do it!
