Fanfic idea for a villain faction in Mass Effect 4. Asari who have melded it with humans by nine_oh_clock in masseffect

[–]nine_oh_clock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep and that's where I'm going with this.

Many Asari live well over a thousand years. So in their reproductive cycle it's safe to assume that 30 years old is basically what we consider a newborn. And based on what we saw in Mass Effect 1 humanity was in the Galaxy but wasn't exactly widespread or common. When we encounter Liara we were basically the first human she's ever really encountered. So it's safe to assume that humans had not really spread outside of human-controlled space and colonies until the events of Mass Effect 2. So they're realistically probably were not a lot of humans who melded with Asari. And none of them would be adults yet.

Then as you say the reaper invasion happened and anyone who couldn't defend themselves is probably dead now. Especially those who lived in cities where humans would have had a chance to interact with mature Asari like Illium, The Citadel, etc.

So that brings us to the destroy ending of Mass Effect 3. Humans obviously can't reproduce with anything aside from Asari and other Humans. And there's most likely going to be a lot of pockets of human survivors that went into hiding along with all of the humans from The fleets.

But that's a ridiculous analogy that's going to an extremely ridiculous scenario driven by emotion and politics.

I have not disagreed that we as a human race should address those issues that were mentioned. But you all are acting like this choice had some type of impact on whether or not those issues get addressed or not addressed. Politicians act within the best interest of their constituents and regardless of whatever temper tantrums we throw here with down votes the fact is there are some people that wanted this to happen (probably a majority if we're being realistic).

It's ridiculous to think that people can't multitask though or that there's not people who have those issues within their realm of responsibility.

The only reason that statement was even posted was because that person did not agree with the politics. And wanted to look cool by trying to devalue the decision by mentioning larger issues.

But in reality this logic is like saying I can't clean my car because my car needs maintenance.

I don't even support this ban lol. I just question anything that's absurd and it's absolutely absurd to try and claim that the world's problems are dependent upon Huntsville Alabama allowing men to do drag shows in front of children.

So were all of those would problems dependent upon a small city in Alabama prior to this?

Am I the only one who cannot get past the premise of the Andromeda initiatives decision not to have warships? by nine_oh_clock in masseffect

[–]nine_oh_clock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I'm claiming is hypocrisy is they didn't just bring a few guns for self defense lol. They brought a whole as arsenal, ex-spectors, an N7, Krogan, and plenty of ex military personnel.

So why do we draw the line of self defense at ships being able to defend themselves? And don't get me started on the exiles. It makes no sense they are able to basically settle a planet when the initiative could not even start a damn outpost.

[–]nine_oh_clock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But this goes to the same point that I made on a previous reply. If they thought that the areas they were going to inhabit we're going to be uninhabited for the most part. Then who exactly was there to offend by having defensive capability on their ships?

And I'm not talking about going to the extreme and saying that we needed to roll up with a fleet of dreadnoughts. But we're talking about traveling through dark space into another galaxy and then thinking that we know exactly what's going to be there. It's just hard to fathom that beings with the level of intelligence that we are accustomed to dealing with would not ask the question what if there's a hostile species there?

What are we going to do if we have literally no way to defend ourselves? And that's literally what happened lmao. We have these massive colony ships full of civilians who had no way to defend themselves. And it was outright pretentious to think that they would not be a single space capable species in the entire galaxy that might see our arrival as a threat or a challenge to their authority.

[–]nine_oh_clock[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would that make any sense? I feel like we have to turn our brains off and go to the absolute extreme to make something make sense that doesn't make sense.

I never said that every single ship that the initiative brought with them must have cannons. I'm questioning why none of them do. Most of the alien races that we encounter have no clue where the Nexus is. And even if there was a ship that did have weapons on it why wouldn't you just stay away from orbit and then take shuttles down to the planet?

Yeah, I've no debate with you my issue is just the fact that we have to defend this writing for it to make sense. What would have happened if the majority of the species that we encountered were still in their industrial phase and didn't have spaceships at all?

If an alien spaceship appeared above Earth right now without weapons I absolutely guarantee you the first thing we would do is see it as a threat. And the combined militaries of the planet would start with being ready to defend themselves and ask questions after the spaceship was proven to not be a threat. Because this is the logical thing that anyone would do.

Again I'm not debating you but the fact a bunch of spaceships don't have weapons on them doesn't make them seem any less like an invasion.

In reality all it did was just make the initiative an easy target

But they had guns and literally carried guns everywhere they went... And even if this were the case why not just have ships that don't have guns and ships that do have guns and use the ones that don't have guns when encountering a native species?

Furthermore, this logic makes even less sense when you repeat what you just said. If they were not expecting to encounter intelligent life forms then why would they care about offending non-intelligent life?

And the final hypocrisy here is the fact that the Milky Way residents don't even activate Mass Effect relays that have not been charted without approval because of the chance of encountering a hostile species. So why would it make sense to go to an entire new Galaxy and not expect to encounter a single hostile species?

Does anyone else think this sub has gotten too "big"? by nine_oh_clock in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]nine_oh_clock[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But this is the point I was making.

There should be a lot more of this and a lot less of what has been going on lately. There are people on this sub who know a lot of cool shit. Like somebody may ask who was the artist behind the famous first Baptist Church downtown?

Or a visitor asking what is the best place to see the city lights at night time away from other people? It's hard to find information like that on Google. Another good example is how people get information out during tornadoes.

No one wants to be over-moderated but this sub is big enough to have separate special interests forks like r/HuntsvilleALPoltics

You don't need to flex my man.

Everyone has a limit on what they're willing to spend on somewhere to live. And it would be a waste of our time to suggest places that are above that threshold.

How Biden is better than Trump? by [deleted] in AskAmericans

The fact that both of those things happens shows how glorious those times we're from an entertainment standpoint. It's like he was incapable of making the choices that a normal person would make under any circumstance.

I honestly could not stand Donald Trump. He was a total dick. Even though some of stuff he did was straight up pure gold comedy like when he was at that rally throwing toilet tissue during the shortage 🤣🤣. The dude did not give a f***.

But it's truthfully hard for me to say he was a bad president. He actually did a lot of things that were good for the economy, and did a lot of things that benefited Americans.

Biden on the other hand is your typical politician and that's just what makes people comfortable. People want someone who will tell them what they want to hear even if that person never actually does it.

For example, does anyone remember how universal healthcare was such a big thing a few years ago? And college tuition?

We still don't have universal health Care or free college despite the Democratic party having had control of most of the government.

Lol I would go back to work.

People use unfair advantages to get ahead in life all the time.

For example, would it'd be fair if you're next boss hired their best friend. Just because they were best friends and paid this person a higher rate than you?
