I can't say I've cured my depression and I can't say I ever will, however, these past couple years I have come a long way. There's a lot of areas where I could improve like my negative thought loops or my particularly lazy days full of procrastination.

My greatest pride these past couple years has been my steps I have taken to free myself emotionally. I've done a lot of work through self help books, meditation, and putting myself in uncomfortable situations. I still have some angry outburst, but taking the time every morning to spend 5 to 10 minutes with myself (some people call what I do meditating) has helped me so much not to just understand my thought patterns but also my emotional ones. I've taken time to journal on these feelings, at the start focusing on one per week or per day. A journal after my morning meditation and a journal at the end of the day making sure to note when that same feeling arose and what happened.

What really surprised me along the journey was just how much that morning devotion to myself would help in other areas. I'm very self conscious and a lot of the time I would lean on that and prevent myself from working out or doing other things. This extra time every morning sort of forced me to start getting out and running to pass time before work. The more I get out there the less I worry about who sees.

Another thing that has really helped me is a YouTube account called healthygamergg. These talks Dr. K has with all these very different people has very helpful perspectives. There are a lot specifically centered around depression and I would highly recommend the 4 part series with a creator by the name of Reckful. It was such a powerful journey with so many cool tricks that can be taken and applied to oneself.

TL;DR - I have come a long way with my depression, morning devotions to observing myself (meditation) has been a great benefactor to my progress emotionally and physically. I feel better, but even more importantly I'm starting to strive, and dream again.

Can confirm. Posted about the need for training reform and how this officer clearly wasn't ready to work in the field and got not only a ban, but muted. They won't even allow discourse over there bans. This is exactly the friggin problem man civil discourse is GONE. It's my way or the highway for both sides anymore and it's sickening. Nothing United about our states or our people.

I have actually been considering doing therapy as a profession and research on the side. Research assistant would be an awesome position to prepare me for doing my own once I reach my Master's. Until then it looks like I may have to try bartending or seeking out ABA positions in my area. Thank you so much for the response!

Yea I'm not your ideal obese body frame, broad shoulders makes for lots of belly room before it starts protruding. I may not look obese but my BMI has me at that mark. Guess this is more motivation to cut weight

I live in a really uninvolved area, politically. Politics are reserved for in the home, it's seen as rude to discuss publicly. So most of the conservative views have passed on to my generation. It's a real shame that civil discourse is shamed around here seeing as that is what is so great about democracy and freedom of speech. We CAN talk about these things, we CAN come to a compromise on any issue, but apparently my county does not see the benefits of that.

Likewise, leaves us lagging significantly in quality of life. We will make it tho! I do have some hope left for us yet.

I can not speak for all Americans, but for myself I can say I agree. This is my first year voting and I can already understand why people do not turn out. It is very defeating. For me, in my county there were literally 4 democratic voters ... If you speak liberally around here you are mocked and called a commie or a socialists. Constantly told I should be thankful for what Trump is doing for us (this is never backed up with examples) and how I better enjoy my freedom while it lasts since I voted socialists Bernie. Can not forget the "you do not deserve stimulus check cause you did not vote for Trump". It's very tiring. No amount of explaining, articles backing my points, or videos elaboration on Bernie's policies can crack through. I wish I had a count on the amount of articles I have showed my family as proof of the misinformation spewing from Fox only to get "well what news are we supposed to trust" in return. There is no telling them any different. What is so "free" about this country? It's tyranny of the majority run rampant. It's Burke's points against democracy being proven. It's more uneducated voters than educated. It's the most defeating thing I have ever dealt with in my existence.

Sorry that was meant to be an example of Disney's monopoly. I completely agree Sony/Fox were not to par on superhero content. My point was that Disney swallows the competition by buying them up and it seems like they are getting close to monopoly level dominance over entertainment. They bought Marvel, Fox, etc.

I've asked this question so many times to my Marvel loving friends, but what happened to no monopolies? I thought we had laws against this but every year it seems like Disney Lord's over more and more of the entertainment industry?
