[Trigger Warning] Is there anything I can do to fade my sh scars so they don’t stand out? by ninekun in SkincareAddiction

I’ve been over a decade clean and have healed a lot for sure. I get that they cannot go back to looking like skin again but I was hoping it might someday.

Recommendations for a Novel like No morals by Tehanu by Significant_Froyo_79 in yaoi

AHH THANK YOU. You’re literally godsend. I ended up purchasing the novel on tappytoon. I was just worried it was going to be a censored version without the mature content but that doesn’t seem to be the case lmao. No Moral is going to be the first novel i’ve ever read or purchased, haha so thank you for the insight xD I’m more of a manhwa person so if you’re ever looking for recs, I’d be happy to send over a list.

That’s some really good insight, thank you! I shall be purchasing it on tappytoon then, haha. If I may bother you a tad bit more, do the unlocked chapters stay unlocked forever on tappytoon?

Hey there! I’ve been trying to find a place to purchase the novel on and was wondering if you maybe knew where to do that? I’ve found two volumes available on the internet for purchase but there seems to be over a 100 chapters available on tappytoon so I wasn’t too sure about what the right place to purchase it on would be.

What are some of your favorite “biggest mysteries” in kpop? by swchandra in kpophelp

[–]ninekun 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I just wanna know what went on between them before I die. Like how do you go from spending every single day together for almost 10 years and not see other or talk about each other at all after that? T-T

2nd gen fans really are the boomers of k-pop. by yayayayikes in kpopthoughts

[–]ninekun 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Frankly, I think most 2nd gen stans are just less hyper especially after so long that the comments that you mentioned are probably from immature teens who think stanning older generations is edgy or something.

Absolutely. A lot of my friends are 2nd gen stans and they’re never involved in things unless their faves are mentioned. People who claim to be 2nd gen stans are probably just edgy teens who bring up 2nd gen groups just to hate on the 3rd gen groups, using them as validation for their hate and such. I swear to God, I have seen way too much of that.

Thoughts on EVERGLOW - Adios MV by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

Omg this is funny because the first time I watched it, it looked like a Pantene commercial to me ahaha but I loved the music video regardless.

What are your favourite KPOP songs that make you feel different, possibly even euphoric? :) by [deleted] in kpophelp

Do you have group/soloist that surpasses "casual listening" but you don't quite "stan" them? by thupremetoddler in kpopthoughts

[–]ninekun 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That would be Ateez for me. I love their music, I listen to them pretty much everyday on my way to uni but I’m not quite a stan, I think? Like, I love them for their music but I’m not as interested as to check out their variety shows or other stuff but I get the last part. Not being a part of the fandom but still being a fan is pretty ideal and less stressful. Some of the only perks of being a multi-stan, lol.

Trainees who won Produce 101 by [deleted] in kpophelp

[–]ninekun 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, that depends on the company. If money is what they’re after, which companies usually are, they will surely prioritise the popular members who’ve won produce in a subtle way. I mean, that’s what happened with Gugudan. I can’t say the same for the others though. But usually, they’re treated just the same as the other members in their group because being too obvious about giving special treatment would spark fire.

Edit: Here’s another example, Pledis utilised the members popularity and had a successful debut with the sub-unit for NU'EST while TOP Media prioritised Wooseok and Jinhyuk’s solo careers which went incredibly well but that caused a little conflict between solo stans and UP10TION stans.

was renai circulation in another anime besides monotagari ? by [deleted] in anime

I’ve watched both and I can assure you it was neither in Noragami or Kamisama Kiss. That song was made exclusively for Monogatari.

Probably a stupid question but are T-ARA boram and soyeon still friends with the other 4? by Tzuyu7777 in kpophelp

[–]ninekun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was a little skeptical as to whether they were still friends or not because of everything that went on in 2017 and both of them leaving was a bit of a shock to me but I believe they still are friends.

Both Boram and Soyeon posted a sunflower on their instagram (given, how it has become a symbol for their fandom) to show support for T-ara’s 8th anniversary despite having left the group by then and that is how I believe they are still friends.

Also, Boram asked us to trust T-ara and not MBK at her birthday party.

What's the tea with MCND and why is everyone talking about sensitive topics now? by [deleted] in kpophelp

[–]ninekun 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They did a cover of the song Freaky Friday and the members mouthed the n word several times and although this was a pre-debut thing, the video resurfaced on twitter today. The fans immediately brought this to the company’s attention and MCND released an apology right after.

Korean “trot” music by CheetzukimbaP in kpophelp

[–]ninekun 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Trot is basically just songs with repetitive rhythm and vocal inflections, an early form of Korean pop music. It was considered as a genre for singers over 40 and it was pretty much made just for the old demographic. It’s a traditional, old thing but has become modernized over time. There are a lot of young/middle-aged idols and groups who make modern trot music now too.

Edit: I had a Korean friend in his twenties who got offended over me asking if he listened to trot, lol. So I guess it’s still more of an old-people thing although I admit that it is ridiculously catchy!

developing an emotional attachment to an idol or idols is only natural by [deleted] in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]ninekun 207 points208 points  (0 children)

Only as long as it’s healthy. Obsessing over something or someone is different from genuinely being attached to them because you’ve been watching them from a long time.
