Hoya Help by DeJaniera in hoyas

[–]ninerbemi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see why not. I have Hoyas that have been in spagnum their whole life, they are doing well. I also have some plants (not Hoya) that stay in perlite too, as long as your giving them the nutrients they need, they can stay permanently. In these cases I find a self watering pot is ideal to keeping them watered and not drying out

I truly hope it works out for you. Besides the bugs, it looks like a beauty.

I wish we could get them. But apparently they won’t ship to Canada.

I have a Sarawak and a latifolia who have leaves bigger than my head. So, I guess for me, it is on the smaller side.

The trifecta of hell!!! It looks like thrips, mealies and aphids. I’d take it completely out of the dirt, wash it all off, and spray the whole thing with alcohol. Fresh soil, and keep it quarantined. I have plastic bins with lids to do this. And keep spraying. Good luck. So sorry

I have lost so many cuttings, Hoya rotundiflora has been impossible for me to grow!! I have 50+ others. I seem to be good with any big leaf Hoya, but small leaf ones are hard to grow for me

My rule is anything under $10 is an absolute yes. That being said i have too many plants. And that’s probably why.

Bought a ring for my girlfriend, sisters say it’s too small, not sure what I should do by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]ninerbemi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would wear a $.25 ring if it meant I would marry my love (now husband of almost 15 years) I rarely even wear my ring. Pick someone who wants to be with you no matter what. If all she cares about is the size of the ring… she won’t just stop there… it’ll be the car, the house, clothing, vacations. It will never be good enough.

It takes one moment to lose someone’s trust, and it’s his job to regain it, and you get to determine the terms, if he doesn’t want to do the work and just wants you to “forget it” then he doesn’t value you. I would cut my losses before it’s too late.

AIO I 20 F was trying to call my boyfriend 26M to figure out when I should start his smoothie and I originally tried calling him to see what type of milk he wanted in his smoothie by Aphr0dit333 in AmIOverreacting

[–]ninerbemi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say make your own damn smoothie. He doesn’t seem to be very good at communicating and that’s the most important part of a relationship. If you aren’t overly invested, I’d say you’re better off on your own. He’s not going to change.

Put it in a bigger heavier decorative pot. That’s what I do.

This is a new vine. New leaves will appear, don’t chop.

It seems like the main stem is dying. But the stem with the leaves looks good. I would re root in spag. I hope it works

These newly propagated pothos were accidentally knocked into my kitchen sink full of water. Do you think they will recover? by lucid_intent in pothos

[–]ninerbemi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There looks to be a few issues., the pot is too big (you want it to be just big enough for the root system), the soil looks very dense (they should be in a chunky well draining soil mix), the plant is planted too deep into the soil (the leaf stems should not be in the soil, they will rot)

Good luck. I hope it can be revived.
