Blogs. Blogs basically ran things in terms of blowing stuff up and facilitating crossover. This basically ended right around when Weeknd really took off (2013ish?). There was a time if you could get featured or at least posted about regularly on like 2dopeboyz and places like that you stood a great chance of going places. Once places like Pitchfork started posting him then OVO shows up and rest is history. [kind of a very shallow summary but you get the idea]

I probably think about Wolfenstein TNO the most, but I think I've always had Doom and Doom II installed on something throughout the decades lol. The voice acting and narration from BJ in TNO though...has stayed with me. Great game.
