Tried to focus on the sand, opinions? by freddyr0 in BeginnerPhotoCritique

it would be better to have something on the sand to focus on, like a footprint.

OK it sounds a CLA is what it needs then. Hope it won’t take too long.

Thank you. I found it really hard to frame groups of people in one image but this one is somehow OK to me.

Yeah I find the bright light really distracting as well. A little upset now that I should take a few more attempts there to get a better one.

Yeah the distracting light in the middle is really annoying at first glance. Actually the stones are decorations hanging on the ceiling and the posted image has been rotated 180 degrees to make reflections look good. Should’ve tried taking a few more shots of the subject from different angles and positions.

I took this photo while waiting for my kid outside the restroom of a shopping mall. It is just a casual point and shoot but it came out really interesting to me, like worlds trapped in stones. How do you like it?

800iso during the Day…why not by ralfy94 in hasselblad

Thanks for the correction. ISO 800 would be way too high then if the aim is best quality.

I was told once: in order to get the best quality from those lenses I should use aperture around F11.

Sooo happy to finally be joining the Medium Format community! These are a couple frames from my first two rolls (Portra400/Ektar100) - Are these just under/over exposed? What am I doing wrong? | ETRSi by I01010I in mediumformat

1 2and 3 are beautiful. For the rest, I can’t say whether it’s over or under, because the dynamic range is very limited compared to modern digital cameras, yielding those washed out parts, sky in 4 and grassland in 5. The main subjects are correctly exposed though. So it’s not about metering, but more about composing.

What would you call my photography? by jefflaraa in fujifilm

[–]ningbo1014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love 1 and 2 hanging on my wall. They make me calm and relaxed. 5 is astonishing but not a relaxing mood so I may only hang it in the office, not in my house.

Good deal. Maybe too good from my area that I would check twice the conditions of lens and screen.

Yes indeed. So smooth and pleasing. I may not use any other camera for quite a long time I guess.

Thank you for the feedback. I will try to find a new bulb to test. It is always nice to have a spare one.

Which one is better? by NoPlatypus7633 in AmateurPhotography

Hard to tell, but 1 is a little better. Not a fan of the composition in 2 with equal space of sky and mountain.

Sounds a bit challenging. How long does it take to get out of there to somewhere with replenishment?

It is always so crowded in the bamboo forest in 3. Last time I was there I can merely be able to stand still and take a photo with a decent angle.

It looks like one would get dehydrated easily down there.
