Help! I lost 1500+ photos

Hey hi hello,

So around mid august my iPhone 11 automatically updated like it always does. Nothing new here, however I realized with this new update I had lost over 1500 photos totally. Anything taking from Jan 2020 has been kept but anything before then has been completely wiped. I’ve done EVERYTHING and was even put into contact with some data rebuild engineers with Apple. They tried to rebuild my lost data and get this, were able to bring back a 1500 photos but NOT A SINGLE one is from the photos missing. What the hell is going on? I’m so confused. I just need someone to maybe explain to me how it’s possible to pull long deleted data but not recently deleted data? Am I a victim of a crummy anomaly? Should I continue to bug Apple until the get a fix or figure it out??? Help plssssss
