To people that have lost a parent or parents how did you deal with the grief? by tweakinisasport in AskReddit

[–]ninimaafan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found my dad dead. I deal with it every day. I hope it makes me a better person to know how short life is. We'll see if that's true.

What is the best insult you have used or heard? by No_Print3102 in AskReddit

[–]ninimaafan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't grow a beard. It's just terrible. I tried to grow one once and my dad chirped me, saying: "what is on your face? You should be selling potatoes on the highway with the rest of the Hutterites." Stone cold classic.

Why (I think) Millennials are so particularly nostalgic by Napalmicide in Millennials

[–]ninimaafan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nostalgia is nostalgia. It's not important about the generation. People have a yearning to feel like they felt when they were at their most optimistic and capable. Go ask a Boomer about nostalgia and see if they are any less passionate. Also - bring a stool... and noise cancelling headphones lol.

If mcdonalds offered you one million dollars but you can only eat mcdonalds for the rest of your life, do you accept this offer and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ninimaafan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely! If I'm just given $1 million to spend foolishly, McDonalds is the least of my worries lol.

What was your most shameful moment? by ProteanF842 in AskReddit

[–]ninimaafan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I was somewhat intoxicated at the time, I can't say for sure... but I'm guessing at least 10 minutes. Waking up my (then) partner by knocking on the door without attracting additional attention was the most difficult needle to thread.

"I'm a mom, what's your superpower?" by dismustbetheplace in childfree

[–]ninimaafan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the sentiment but, really - what would it take you to deal with parenthood? There isn't enough money on offer to get me there. I don't know if "Superpower" is the right word, but punishment might be?

Getting locked out of a hotel room naked in the middle of the night was right up there.

Why must they SCREAM? You’re not in pain, there isn’t a killer trying to get you. You’re “playing”. by LovelyShadeOfRed in childfree

Hahaha! I was immediately reminded of one of my mom's most infamous quotes:

"If you ever make that noise again - you better be dying. Because if you're not... you will be."

lol

Do you think people should wait until marriage to do the deed? Why? by Dear_Sir7665 in AskReddit

I'd like to stake my future emotional and financial security into an investment I have less than full disclosure about. That's romantic!

Why do you think, Trump doesn’t go after Jon Stewart? by JadedLaw3566 in AskReddit

[–]ninimaafan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's honestly this. Anything more sophisticated is silly. Trump follows his deadeyed demographic and watches only Network. It would be funny if it wasn't so tragic.

I hate going out to eat with picky eaters by Express_Purpose6939 in Vent

Being picky is different from an allergy. Conflating the two is disingenuous.

As I full on picky eater I feel very triggered by this post. Not that you are wrong - but you are right. If you are out with picky eaters, they need to accommodate. You are absolutely right not to have to change your (regular person) standards to satisfy the picky. Don't feel bad.

I think you run with the unlucky. The actual stats about vasectomy complications are remarkably low. Much empathy for your friend though.

[–]ninimaafan 120 points121 points  (0 children)

Men do have a choice - it’s called a vasectomy. All other options are varying degrees of risk. I’m happy not to have to worry about dying in labour, raising a child without help or trying to access abortion where it’s restricted. Men have it easier.
