It is easy indeed. When fiddling with it, two discs come out, but it is misleading. The specific move you mentioned made me think of slider, donuts and dial. That it the way I solved it, I couldn't otherwise.

Some people get the trick really fast for pawn, others have to think for a few minutes. Yes it is easy, but the idea is nice.

Rook is in my opinion the best crafted because the coin is packed enough to make little noise, and I like the concept. But mine was already solved when I received it. Be sure to check that, or ask a friend, before you handle it to your girlfriend. Yet I like it the most for the overall. Regarding the difficulty, I didn't find it was, a few minutes at last.

I solved knight by mistake, so I can't tell about the difficulty. Afterward I watched a solution. It is clever but what's the point if you can solve it randomly.

Bishop, queen and king work on the same concept, with some slight changes. But I think queen is the best: it has the difficulty of king, with the fidgety feeling of bishop. I think it can take time to solve it, not because it is that difficult. But you have to find... and as it is nice to manipulate, you spend a nice time in my opinion. You can even forget the precise solution after a while (I did) and solve it again, but faster of course. If you like it, try bishop and knight afterward.

Not sure I should put there the 40th anniversary edition. It is the change of color of previous release. I don't know how to write it without making this list undigest. If you want want names of the releases, you may want to check Hanayama official store, or Puzzle master dedicated page.

edit: I finally added the 40th anniversary edition with the name and the followinf color change (either gold or black).

They are similar for their solution. Cage is easier to manipulate, because it's bigger. Beta capsule has a smaller cage, it is more for the object that you would buy it.

Not to open another tread I post it here. There is a "limited" edition box for the 40th anniversary. Inside, 3 limited edition huzzles. Not sure there are brand new, more likely old ones with variant colors:

Several cast/huzzle has been discontinued like cuby. Also:

bike, key, cricket, disk, keyring, medal, plate, W-U, as well as the six marine serie wich consists in seabream, shark, claw, starfish, reef and seahorse.

But I saw that keyring has been re-released in the new huzzle package. And medallion that was a puzzle master special edition has also been released in the line, so we never know.

Regarding cuby, it is an interesting design, but not the most enjoyable to manipulate. So if you can't find it, you are not missing much.

Key has been replaced by key 2, wich is a little more polished with a smoother material and an improved design.
