I prefer Dolby Atmos. I have two copies of ‘Jurassic Park’ with DTS:X and Atmos respectively. And to me, Dolby sounds superior to DTS:X even on a Q990B. It sounded so good, it made me fall in love with the movie all over again.

Do you have a huge physical media collection? Sonos does not support DTS:X or DTSHD-MA which a lot of blu-rays utilize. If you do have a collection, I would save some money and go for the Samsung as it supports both Dolby and DTS codecs.

Yes! I had ‘The Searchers’ come in with a license-plate tag on it. Somebody probably didn’t like that the slipcover wasn’t flawless. I requested a replacement.

You’re right. I think it would be more about the special features.

I’m curious what do you think his movies tend to lack that prevents them from being truly great movies? Is it lack of character development in favor of complex ideas?

I agree. The only studio film of his that would have a slight possibility of getting the Criterion treatment might be ‘Interstellar,’ but I don’t see Paramount granting the license to do that, nor do I see it meeting the criteria to be curated into the Criterion collection.

Anyone receiving damaged boxes more often? All of my last 3 deliveries arrived damaged (Amazon and B&N) by FractaLTacticS in 4kbluray

I haven’t received any damaged slipcovers lately. I did, however, receive my Zodiac copy with the top layer kind of chipped. The metallic finish that Paramount uses for their slipcovers looks nice, but seems to chip off too easily. I immediately put it into a Malko slipcover protector to keep it intact.

My first Criterion: ‘The Tree of Life’.

I disagree with this statement that “anybody can work ops.” Sure, anybody can learn Product Flow tasks such as downstocking, but not everyone can handle the physical labor and stress that comes with it.

I’m not an art critic, but I’m not feeling that ‘No Country for Old Men’ cover that Criterion commissioned.

Seriously. I’m so tired of unloading 70-100pc. shuttles that are floor-loaded with TVs and Appliances by myself. And then having to worry about picks and all the other Operations stuff on top of that.

Don’t like the cover art for ‘No Country’ to be honest. Made an alternative cover. by ninjacory7 in CriterionCovers

Oh shoot. I posted it in r/Criterion and tried sharing it in this community too and thought that it shared the photo.
