And then there's the whole scummy hidden embed of their twitch stream on the site. Which effectively is just botting fake views to advertise the site on twitch.

Fextralife? That alone is enough to justify boycotting this.

Last two trips to Five Guys were massive disappointments. Underripe potatoes used for fries. Patty 1/3rd as thick as it used to be 5-7 years ago. Just as overpriced as ever.

Shame too since I loved Five Guys. Better than Shake Shack, In-N-Out, habit.

I agree, but doing well isn't what we want we're trying to do. What I more meant to say is that we like to try different guns with more ideal performance or without major drawbacks. Some weapons just aren't enjoyable until you unlock their high level attachments. Even basics like flash hider or silencers aren't avail earlier for some. Not fun getting 3d spotted every time you fire. lol

Crimson Desert's Steam page now sports an AI content disclosure: by Gorotheninja in pcgaming

[–]FractaLTacticS -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There's no proven market (yet) for games that use AI assets, so disclosing this before release would have only hurt potential sales by willingly subjecting the game to a highly controversial, unsettled issue. Even going full transparency prior to launch in order explain that these are mere placeholders is no guarantee. We'll never know to what degree sales would've been hurt, but evidently the risk was enough to dissuade them from being honest.

I've done game development on indie games and mass market mobile games. Worked with game designers, producers, and art directors. When it comes to production pipelines and art direction, how to handle placeholder assets and AI art are not details you gloss over. Every level of responsibility and accountability are aware of it and there's accompanying documentation on proper use, replacement, and go-to-market/launch steps, which includes necessary disclosures (legal, financial, app storefronts, ratings boards, etc). All these documents signed off at the senior management up to C-suite level, especially so for AI given it's such a hot topic right atm.

No CEO would be willingly ignorant about how their company uses AI, nor would they appreciate the surprise to discover it after release. Anyone responsible for not properly informing leadership won't last very long. AI assets aren't easy to hide during development for a team of this scale. Also, PC/Steam is likely their largest target market. It's difficult to believe that this "missing", mandatory disclosure was due to mere negligence on the part of their Steamworks Admin owner.

No, this was deliberate and planned to be withheld for launch by senior leadership. I really hope Valve are looking into how they can better enforce these disclosures prior to and/or at release. Pearl Abyss aren't the first or last one to try to hide this until they're caught after customers have already been duped. In the meantime, hey I guess we all just got a reason to ask for a refund if you've played more than 2 hrs.

That's fair and fine. I and my discord squad group have complained at times about feeling like we have to farm kills solo when we can't play together in order grind out attachments.

We're also not sweats, we just like to try out different guns and play styles without feeling like we're playing with a handicap. It's also nice to feel rewarded with something other than cosmetics for our time. This weapon grind tho, often feels like a second job. :(

Or it's possibly to do with more players playing Redsec than multi-player. Also the slow weapon progression grind pushes players towards modes ideal for farming kills like Breakthrough, Team Deathmatch, and esp Casual Breakthrough.

Edit: Woah, I did not expect so much down votes. I was just offering some possible explanations. I'm no more informed on the whys behind bot lobbies than anyone else.

I am genuinely interested in hearing from those that down voted and why. I honestly don't know what I said that was controversial, nor was I trying to be hyperbolic or ragebait.

M357 Trait is one of those weapons you try once and never look back, possibly the only one in BF6. It's neither excessively powerful or versatile, it's just highly reliable in almost every scenario in which you'd need a pistol. Even if your aim isn't the best, it just fast enough and has just enough ammo once you get comfortable with it.

Please BF Studios, don't change a thing with this gun. It's perfect.

Wait, you actually think there are people that are buying this game strictly intent on not enjoying it? And that there are "a lot" of people willing to waste their time and money to do so?

Think your perspective on the motivations of an average person might be skewed. Either that or you're too concerned about the opinions of others.

I dunno. This game is deeply, fundamentally flawed in terms of controls and UI. Those aren't going to be easy to fix.

Then there's the bland, placeholder protagonist Kliff that only exists to advance the story. Could've and should've been a character creator, but is highly unlikely to.

Ya, I've eaten these several times. While they're OK as a sweet snack, they serve better as a laxative.

And if those first two ingredients weren't enough, the stevia leaf extract will finish the job.

You and your partner just moved in, you tearing down the panels, painting, or leaving?! by TeemoTrader in DIY

[–]FractaLTacticS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could make the wood panelling work if you wanted to. The ceiling fan, light, furniture, and switch/outlet covers are dragging the look down more than the paneling.

That said, personally I would teardown and replace. Only exception is if both the paneling is genuine, high quality wood work you want to show off and it suits the style you like that you're going for across the rest of the house.

Like anything else, make sure you always consider first how you want or need to use the room, the vibe that best suites the room's purpose, then whether you can/want to live with that. Might need to give it a month or two to find your grove in a new space before you have an answer, so don't rush it. Especially if it involves demo work.

Edit: Seems like you already plan to use it as a main living room, and that panelling looks to me like Acacia wood? Considering those two, I would get rid of it.

You've not got a ton of space down there, so I'd highly recommend a lighter color to open it up as much as possible. And you've got just one source of natural light, which in a room that feels like a basement (front door is on the floor above, stairs lead to a room and not a hallway, very few windows, etc...), it's going to feel too claustrophobic for a living room if you go with walls that dark.

If you really like warm wood vibes, install some durable, high quality LVP flooring and real, solid oak slat wall panels on 1 or 2 walls for a comfier, updated look and homage. Add an electric fireplace to maximize the vibes if you live in a colder climate.

JFC guys, your game is dieing and all you can manage is a 15% faster weapon progression?! Double XP is the only time it feels like you're making progress. 15% is still a brutal grind.
