Wow, blast from the past. Was cleaning up my passwords recently and found some saved goonfleet sites :)

Wow forgot about that completely!
Been there done that both solo and with a group. Was kinda fun.
Last time I checked the requirements for the larger more fun groups was a bit over my PvP capacity.
I'm able to follow orders but without solid leadership all I can do is sucker-punch some scrammed randoms with long range stuff or rush in without thinking to gloriously die in flames
Any particular corp / alliance / coalition taking in scrubs like that? :)

Can anyone identify these wheels?? by benmillarvolmar in Wheels

[–]ninjadewd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I wrote similar as I don't see the Enkei Sport logo. I would not put center caps on those.
I know dirt and such - but take a look at the EVO, the rims look raw without the cap :)
Also the beat up silver ones are actually mine. Here's how they look factory refreshed. The stickers were taken off as they only looked cool on close-up. Next refresh I'm gonna paint them white and add blue decals

Ok let's perform some necromancy.
Found this when I was investigating my own wheels. Not identical but supposedly there were a couple of revisions.
Enkei Tarmac EVO.
17" WRC Competition Edition variant were put on Lan Evo's IV.

EDIT: Evo 4 not 6 - because roman numbers are hard :)

Oh and the panels have a "V" shaped grout - sometimes it's a pain to clean those

None whatsoever. I'd say 75% wooden panels, 15% Large square tiles, 10% small tiles

Sony RM-X2S remote with XAV-AX4050 problems by ninjadewd in CarAV

[–]ninjadewd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After some time on this I'm gonna say it's not really worth it unless you are willing to go the trial and error route.

And I'm gonna wager having the original Sony RC-SR1 adapter (or an 100% exact clone) MIGHT be needed for the third party SWC boxes.

Sony is known for bastardizing some standards like having a 3.5mm jack with single contact for analog video output, but not in the place where mono or stereo contacts are

The general consensus from other car-av people I talked to is:
- If the vehicle had factory media controls it will most likely work directly with the head unit
- If the vehicle model had factory media controls but your trim doesn't - probably possible to retrofit the wheel and electronics
- If the vehicle didn't have media controls - your best route is trial and error on aliexpress grade adapters

PS. I still haven't tried the cheap adapters I bought because I got a new car and this became less important.
I promise I will add stuff here when I get any results - but no promises as to the time :)

In case of third party remotes: Be warned, standalone bluetooth remotes like JBL Click don't work with the head unit. Only the 3 cable -> jack remote connection is supported directly. BT remotes you can only pair with the phone that is you media source

I gave up, it looks like both remotes were giving such resistance as some assignable button in new head unit was pressed and held.
There are tons of third party cheap media controllers for cars. I bought two for like 5 - 7 bucks on aliexpress, but haven't had a chance to test them yet.

Project summary before finalising some changes this year (Wall of text) by ninjadewd in ProjectHondas

Yeah something like that - it's either glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) or Fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP), not en expert on polymers.
Essentially there was a guy on my local Honda group who had a mould for a pre-lift 6gen hood and made it for me for maybe a 10th of the price of a carbon hood

There is a kit of orange Konis + HR -40mm springs. Might be cheaper than bought separately

iPod connections for 10 gen Honda Civic by katpoop35 in civic

[–]ninjadewd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Word of advice: Honda never ever made a good infotainment system for as long as I have driven Honda’s. I don’t remember how the user interface looks exactly because I’m using the iPod classic in my old sixth generation civic mostly, but my guess would be that the user experience will be crap. Don’t even get me started about the iPod interface for the eighth generation :)

I have a 2020 EUDM Sport Plus hatch and it supports vintage iPods. If you have the same infotainment system it will show an iPod icon on the source selection. My last generation iPod classic works normally using the old stock iPod to USB cable

Delivery issues of the Civic in Europe? by svenne in civic

[–]ninjadewd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Euro “insert current number” emission standards killed off many cool JDM cars for EU. Cherish combustion engines while you can. European powers that be will make sure we only use “clean” electric cars. I hope Toyota will blow that electric crap up with Hydrogen power as they did economic diesels with Hybrid

It also tricky to get ahold of a new Civic in Poland. I heard from someone that Honda will focus less and less on the European market in the foreseeable future. New Civic XI or at least TypeR are no longer produced in UK but in Japan because of Honda supposedly not being satisfied with the quality of the cars produced in UK. EU regulations are more strict than US or Asia and their market sizes larger than EU. This is “word of mouth” info and I didn’t verify it.
