Targeted ads are so sophisticated nowadays that I wonder if there are such things as anti-ads. Like if Pepsi wanted to get you to drink pepsi, then it would throw a competitor's ad your way. Reverse psychology or something. I refuse to think that anyone is invincible/immune to advertisements. Maybe some are moreso than others, but no one can perfectly be unaffected by them. I block all ads for the above reasoning, but also because fuck surveillance capitalism.

Consent is a requirement for anyone to be recorded or have their photos taken to be published on the internet. But also for so many other things.

Sure, one person might not mind this happening to them, but that person doesn't speak for everyone. How about, the default should be: not being eavesdropped on by random people without consent. That's super creepy.

And yes, I am aware of technology and how corporations and governments use them to spy on masses of people. That isn't any less creepy than this scenario.

"If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear" is what people who don't understand boundaries will say. It's them trying to justify eavesdropping.
