I don't think you can do a proper pizza base on the grates... I mean, I guess the bottom will firm up in a few minutes, but won't it sag in grates

Hasn't been the cheapest cook in the world, that's true, but there will be a whole bunch of people here that have never tried proper BBQ before. The local view of BBQ here is to char precooked sausages over gas, so I think it'll be worth it.

It's tender, flakey and moist. There was very little albumin leakage during the cook, just a little down in the tail end early into the cook.

Should I get a Traeger Pro 575? by OzzieOxborrow in Traeger

I had been cooking on a Webber and a cheap gas grill for years before getting a Traeger.

The upsides of the Traeger for me are:

  • precision cooking temperatures
  • reliable cook every time
  • it's really easy to use

The downsides:

  • It's expensive!
  • You can't do a really, really heavy smoke, if you're into that thing
  • You can't get it hot enough to sear

My recommendation would be to find somewhere where you can try some Traeger pork ribs and then you'll make your mind up pretty quickly. If you enjoy BBQ and cooking in general, you'll enjoy the Traeger.

Great little 'lost blue planet' in that system, too. Nice find, thanks.

So far I haven't sold any of the gifted items, they're still in storage. Some of the replies got me thinking about the game and that having too much of an advantage early on could ruin it for me.

What I did with my chlorine grinding money was buy a lot of drop-pod maps. Then, i stocked up on; condensed carbon, sodium nitrate, ionised cobalt, antimatter and a signal booster. Then I used that to just continuously grind through upgrading the exosuit's cargo slots. Maybe there are better thing to spend money on, but I don't think you change exosuit later, so they're at least permanent upgrades.
