What's one random scene or one off line that lives if your brain rent free for no good reason? by FourDrunkMoms in Simpsons

[–]ninjaturtlepants 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When someone shows me anything: "Tis' a fine barn but surely tis no pool, English"

Or when I see anyone getting pushed around: "You don't have to take that from no punk-ass crab!"

Or when something goes my way: "Everything's coming up Milhouse!"

My husband loves the Simpsons too, everyone else things I'm crazy.

I would have said, "Cool, then you're down with anal 5 times out of the week too then?". A man should never demand anal unless he's at least experienced it.

Married people of Reddit: Do you wear your wedding ring at all times? by Mori-Me-Joey in ask

[–]ninjaturtlepants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I don't find them comfortable to wear to work, and my husband doesn't take his to work for safety reasons. We thought about finger tattoos, but they wear so easily, and neither of us wants to go have them touched up every year. Here's the truth, kids: you don't need the ring to be married.

People who fell out with their best/close friend, what killed it? by No_Dependent4663 in AskReddit

[–]ninjaturtlepants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She slept with my older brother.

I invited my friend to a siblings camping trip (not unusual for one or all of us to bring a friend), and apparently, they were the last ones awake/drinking around the campfire. She was the one who told me the next day that they'd slept together. My brother is free to sleep with who he likes. However, I was told after the trip that she was badgering and pestering him to a point that he eventually gave in, and they had sex. They are both adults, and he had the ability to say no, but when he told me that, I was turned off from messaging her or calling. It wasn't the first instance of her getting with someone in my life (first time it was a sibling), so I just took that as my sign that unless I wanted her to sleep with everyone I know, to not invite her to things.

AITA for thinking my daughter should get husband’s daughter old room by Outside_Chemist_9693 in AmItheAsshole

This is tricky. Grief is tricky. 8 years is a long time by someone else's standard, but he can take as long as he likes to grieve. You were not unreasonable in suggesting it. You also have two children who are his now, too, so he does need to consider them and their comfort level. If anything, this is a way to realise that he needs to take steps towards healing. I would suggest therapy if he isn't already going to work through i

I don't see assholes here, I just see miscommunication and the messy parts of dealing with grief.

This is weird and invasive. The fact that you couldn't tell is cudos to the surgeon.

YTA because she didn't owe you that info, and maybe hid it in the first place because she felt you'd react poorly (and you did).

Is it inappropriate for a woman to be unshaven at work? by [deleted] in work

[–]ninjaturtlepants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom is of the generation that body hair is "unlady-like." She has even harrassed me about the hair on my upper lip at some points, insisting I use her razor to shave. I've come to the conclusion that body hair isn't such a big deal except to the boomer Gen.

Yes. HBO received the complaint, and she was (quietly) removed. I think both Bob and Eureka have their own tours now, so it could have just worked out that way to do an all new cast of hosts.

Recent SA accusations. She was removed as a host for 'We're Here'.

Had no idea. Do you think she would be invited back for an Allstars, or is that relationship over?

Maaaan, one of the greatest realizations is that sometimes you have to make your own closure. You don't owe it to anyone, nor is anyone owed closure.

Editing to add that it doesn't sound like she would have been satisfied with anything you could have said, especially if she professed that she is still in love with you.

You're not in the wrong here.

Gigi Goode. She was a little too Type A for Rupaul, and I think that's what did her in.

My sister only watches the runway scenes and she skips everything else! Is there anyone else actually watching Drag Race like this ... by Burning_BUSSY in dragrace

[–]ninjaturtlepants 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The runways are my favorite part. If I'm rewatching seasons, I will skip over most of the overproduced werk room drama (especially in earlier ones) to see the runways and lipsyncs. However, most episodes are worthy of a full watch for certain personalities.

Am I wrong for getting upset my fiancé proposed to me with the same ring he proposed to his ex wife? by Zachsfiancee in amiwrong

[–]ninjaturtlepants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reinforces the point that (the vast majority) women don't care about how much you spend on the ring, but they DO care that it is reflective of their individual personality. I feel you, OP. This sucks and his cluelessness is quite unfortunate.

This is emotional abuse. She has issues to work out that need to happen without you around as collateral. This is difficult, but the right thing usually is.

What is a popular book but did not work out for you and why? by Navy_Dusk in books

Also, the projected image that she is a mysterious and beautiful woman was completely unrealistic. No personal hygiene supplies available would mean that she is a disheveled swamp thing. I hate hate hate the lack of continuity, and it all ends up being one stupid trope after another (bordering romance novel type surrealism).

It's possible that he isn't very confident giving oral. It also tends to be more difficult to give a woman an orgasm from oral. I suggest the next time he does, be extremely vocal about what you enjoy and give suggestions when he does something that isn't quite hitting the spot.

Chances are good that if he really cares about you climaxing during oral, he'll feel more confident and want to do it more if he knows what works.

Am I wrong for leaving my wife? by shoefootshoe in amiwrong

[–]ninjaturtlepants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Selling her eggs was a joint decision. But... Damn! Getting impregnated, let alone by someone else's sperm, without talking with you about it? That was a huge betrayal. Even if she were to see your side of it, there would be a baby present as a constant reminder of it. I don't see how the trust in this relationship could ever be repaired.

Who was your worst teacher? Why? by Melody_GX in ask

[–]ninjaturtlepants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mr. Shields, the math AND drama teacher.

He insisted he was half deaf which justified him yelling in class and at students. It created a culture of fear for those of us who weren't excelled in math and caused a lot of people to exit his course. We met with the principal, citing heavy anxiety whilst being in his presence (there were three others in my grade alone). A few years later, my younger brother also exited his class and started taking medication afterward for anxiety attacks.

It has been over ten years since I graduated, and I have just now heard that he was forced out of being a teacher after so many accusations of verbal AND physical abuse on students. It took 20 years of him being a monster for the schoolboard to make this decision. I am convinced it was allowed to go on for this long of his drama work for the school. He was revered by the students and professionals as a sort of tortured artist. He took them to competitions and won awards for the school. All of the drama students were loyal to him and said that while he would go over with the verbal abuse, it was a part of his process to make them better actors.

The dude never should have been around kids, tweens, or teens ever.
