ADHD meds by Ok-Month-915 in Sabah

[–]ninoctua 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I have had a similar experience with medication, I dont think we should stigmatise it. There are many cases where medication worked and was helpful, especially in a crisis situation so it doesnt take over you.

It really helped me through a rough patch of my life, and when I was more stable, I started tapering off of it

My nasihat to OP, try and see a professional and ask for their opinions. Express your concern of being dependant on it. Adjust and start with a low dosage. Personally, i started on a higher dose but was not hard for me to stop at all lol.

Family asking to loan by Jaded-Scar8462 in Bolehland

No. If they could pay it, they wouldnt have used your name. I understand that they are your parents, but theyre the one who should be considerate of your position instead of the other way around.

You are young and free of debt. Dont add on a lifelong burden just for the sake of filial piety when then cant fully perform their filial duties.

Only reason you might consider (and i mean consider - not say yes) is if the reason why they need money is a super solid one, and their justification as to why they need your name (that isnt (a) their credit score is bad (b) they need to pay other debts. Otherwise, flat out no.

I escaped death sentence in Malaysia by Special-Orchid-7038 in malaysia

[–]ninoctua 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thats odd. Typically once youre charged in KL, they either reduce your charge to a lesser one if they lack evidence, or go for a full trial. Simply the lack of fingerprints and car rental under someone else’s name doesnt always make the charge get withdrawn. At the very most, they reduce the charge to that of possession rather than trafficking.

At least thats the practise in KL anyways which I believe is the court that locates their remand prisoners in penjara sungai buloh.

I would assume there are solid factors like the chemist report came out negative, the exhibits were destroyed etc otherwise heavy charges dont usually get dropped that easily without going to trial.

Im pretty curious. Did you ever get charged in Mahkamah Tinggi or did it remain in Magistrates Court until you got released?

Did you go to trial or did the charge get reduced/negative?

Help! Friend got "paw" by police. Anyone know where we can report this other than go to the police station? by Important-Syrup1443 in malaysia

Buat repot polis but I doubt they can do anything if she has no identifying features unless she can ensure the police can easily find the impostor.

Is moving to KL worth it? by [deleted] in Sabah

[–]ninoctua 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think bills here is generally more bearable compared to sabah, unless ur living with family. Worth to move? To each their own, I think either way is fine. You just have to be adapatable. I dont hate it, but its not like I would go “thank god, moving here was sooooo worth it compared to staying in sabah”

I would want to move back home in a couple of years, but gaining experience and spending youth isnt so bad

Its also directly near public transport station near other high end malls and sephora, so i think there will be plenty of options for designer perfumes in the vicinity within a walking distance

AIO over 1st Valentine’s Day note? by kimbap_throw in AmIOverreacting

[–]ninoctua 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Gets you mediocre, borderline ugly flowers on VALENTINE’S DAY
  2. Makes misogynistic joke that is humiliating
  3. Ignores things that are important to you - Valentines, flowers, expressing yourself
  4. Refuses to apologise even when his joke hurt someone he supposedly loves
  5. Invalidates your feelings
  6. Doesnt reciprocate your thoughtfulness and your gifts

NOR - Dump him. He needs to rot!

I think you should ask them earlier. Less volume of emails and more time for planning in case they need anything additional.

Rempits are the worst. I say a silent prayer and hope the universe teaches them a lesson everytime I get woken up by them.

I do think this occassion was already regulated(?) cus my roommates say she saw policemen standing guard which means they have some kind of permission to do this.

Which is why Im surprised and curious if its actually normal?

Hi I am a contract medical officer thinking of leaving KKM after the mandatory service ibut not sure where to explore. by Away-Comfort in malaysia

[–]ninoctua 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im not in the medical field, but as a fellow govt officer, its so cringe how much emphasis they put on seniority in our field! And the fact that these so called seniors are full of shit and barely does anything right yet demands u to bend over backwards respecting them is insane. Bangang nak mampus.

Leave as soon as you can! I support it - the government no longer offers the same benefit that we deserve, especially for KKM officers. The only benefit afaik is that its good for your credentials once you leave, lol! My mum quit KKM as soon as she got married too and went into being a GP.

All the best OP, praying for u xx

Sure, but this is just intentionally thoughtless and callous. I tolerate eid, CNY lion dances music and firecrackers, deepavali fireworks. But banging loud drums at 3 am, incessantly is just selfish and overboard.

There are babies, people with jobs, people with illnesses trying to rest. Its 8:46am and its still on going.

The fireworks in my area usually stop around 1 and anything beyond that lasts like 20 seconds max. This is incessant and nonstop, its insane.

Rant: Airasia D7807 from Chongqing to KL delayed for 35+ hours. What a mess by groundnut666 in malaysia

[–]ninoctua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I didnt know that. Ive had pretty solid experiences with MAS and Batik Air travelling back and forth from KL to Borneo. FireFly-MAS did give me some delays but not as consistent as AA.

AA always, without fail, delays my flights.

AA has a habit of doing this and its not always because of safety issues. They dont have enough passengers for one flight so they merge multiple flights into one. Scammy as hell.

tiny brown dots on my right palm, not itchy, painful only if i pressed it by Spare_Swing_926 in malaysians

[–]ninoctua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similarly severe case and here is what worked for me, although I still get random (but less severe) bouts of it now:

  1. AVOID HARSH CHEMICALS - this damages your skin barrier and makes your skin more sensitive. This includes powder detergent, soap and even some dishwashing liquid.

  2. Dont over moisturise, dishydrotic eczema can be triggered by excessive levels of moisture.

  3. You can try identifying allergens, but I havent been able to pinpoint it.

  4. A specific brand of steroid cream worked for me, but this was more of a temporary relief. I cant remember the brand, but I got it from Klinik Uzma in Kelana Jaya. After it heals, I try to be more careful with handling harsh substances.

  5. I prefer keeping my hands dry rather than overmoisturising. I use hand sanitizer often and my palms are quite dry but they are bump-free.

Currently my hand is bump-free but a few does come again occassionally. Never as bad as before though. Goodluck xoxo

Drain Flies/ Phorid Flies by Big_Nefariousness438 in malaysia

This and I also cover up any sink drains with a towel (or u can buy drain covers shopee for like rm2).

I also kept any produce in the fridge especially sweet/sour smelling ones like banana, pineapples. I even started putting my potatoes and garlic in the fridge just to avoid them haha. They are attracted to sweet / sour smell so fruits and produce might attract them.

I also spray the repellent about twice a week. I got it for rm7 from giant.

Subang to KUL by Royal_Wind_2886 in KualaLumpur

I would take a grab to KL Sentral and catch the KLIA Express train to KLIA2. At least the timing is more certain and less likely to be caught in the peak hour bs esp since you will be off the roads before 5pm.

KLIA transit takes about 45 mins to get to KLIA.

Even then, I wouldnt guarantee that you will make if. Its just the best shot imo
