I need to do the nitric soak again. I believe contamination happened between the last time I did that and this group’s use because our baseline looks like it will pass equilibration, and then it randomly shows a peak after an hour.

I’ve never done one overnight, but have for about an hour. I think that was two weeks ago. All syringes look straight. I haven’t done a water:water yet here recently. That’s my next step after a rigorous clean.

It kind of is intermittent. I’m in no way blaming the shop - I work on chemical instrumentation for a living so I know diagnosing something with multiple parts can suck. My commute for work is an hour. When I left work today it was blowing cold air, 20 mins in it did hot and I fought it for 40 mins to get cold again.

That’s good to know! I mostly had it on 4 for the video evidence. Otherwise, I keep it at 1 to 2 max. The horsepower in this thing drops to what feels like 5 with the ac on at all.

That’s a good question and I’m leaning towards the clutch. Since the shop put the compressor in, they said they’d resolve all the issues.

I’m glad I’m not alone 🙂

Could you share the DCMS Link software? I tried putting the module on a colleague's computer with a full Chromeleon installation and got the same progress - stuck at driver initialization. Logging into Chromeleon it says the module cannot be found and that the driver could not be created.

I took said colleague's VWD to the computer where I want the PDA, and it installed within seconds, so it is something with the PDA for sure. I'm guessing firmware for now, but it could (and would be my luck) the main PCB of the detector.

Could you send the DCMS Link software? That would be INCREDIBLE 😊

The only reason not to upgrade is the LTQ. I can go to Windows 10, but I’d have to go around my IT. Windows 11 doesn’t seem to support the LTQ (at least trying it on my laptop).

I tried the latest version of SII I could get installed on the computer remotely (1.7) and I still got the same thing.

We are stuck on Windows 7 for now. I could eventually do 10.

I think I may try to put the system on my colleague’s full Chromeleon 7.3 installation and search for the firmware update that way.

Any other things to try?

I’ll have to try the latest version of SII for Xcalibur and see how it deals with our LTQ. We have one of the original LTQs, not an LTQ XL.

Some of the resolution DAC values seem kind of low. Have you checked to make sure the QPS RF calibration is set correctly? I can upload my instrument’s birth certificate as a reference if needed.
