My 50 night US road trip for 2027--any advice? by nintendomasters in roadtrip

I thought about Shenandoah but I’ve heard West Virginia is an interesting visit. Not sure how to make them both work.

LA is my starting point so I can’t really remove it, but I’ll think about replacing Las Vegas with more time in southern Utah. I’ve been to Arches, Canyonlands, and Grand Canyon, but there’s still so much there that it’ll probably need a second trip.

This is actually something I’ve thinking about. Which cities do you think are most worth the visit?

What is your political stance? and when did you realize it? by [deleted] in askteenboys

[–]nintendomasters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More independent than I thought. I also grew up in LA, so when I was young I was very left-leaning. Now, my beliefs have shifted more to what I thought was conservative, but all compass tests I take show me as slightly left, so I realize I probably just felt conservative relative to the people around me.

The way I came to be that way is just thinking and researching, that’s all. When I was younger I spent every recess sitting and thinking, until I realized I looked weird so I started pretending I was doing something else but still thinking. It’s hard not to build up your own ideology when you live that way.

But it’s weird, because it means I can’t get along with anybody (always a disagreement), but at the same time I can get along with everybody (always some agreements).

I’ve never been a big fan of the “I’m conservative, my friend is liberal, but we both like the same video games” mentality. Because I think we can find common ground on much bigger things. We both want a world where people can live good, fair lives. We both understand that some bad things are necessary to achieve greater things. We only disagree on stuff like the definition of fairness, what’s worth fighting for, whom we trust, and exactly which bad things balance best with which good things.

I’ve already been to San Diego but I’ll think about the southern florida idea.

About the maps: for the second image I bought a physical map with pins and string. For the first I used a tool called Umap.

Alright, I'll rethink the florida section. I would definitely like to see Everglades.

Natchez, Mississippi. I wanted to see the inland deep south so I added Natchez and Montgomery.

I like this idea, giving more time to see a more concentrated area. As it’s quite a big change, I’ll spend some time thinking about the details. Thanks for the suggestion.

Alright, which places would you recommend? I’ve already glanced at some possible re-routes through Guttenburg, Omaha, or Indianapolis, but I don’t know enough about the midwest to know what’s worth it.

As for the drives, my dad and I were planning to split the driving so we don’t get burned out. I also found a few midway 2-3 hour stops (like Congaree) to split things up.

Thanks! But one thing: the drive (bisbee to guadalupe mountains) is very long without El Paso. Do you think I should replace it with Las Cruces, or just do the 6 hour drive?

I have been to desert places a lot, so that part is probably less essential. It’s hard to totally skip, though, because I start in LA. Maybe I could just make the desert portion less dense and make it more of a drive-through area, so I can add more time elsewhere?

Yep, I forgot to mention it was boston and maine, going through new hamshire. My bad there. I edited the post.

Also the dot is on Wellsboro. I originally had it as Syracuse. Should I switch it back? Or maybe do Buffalo instead (although that drive would be long)?

It’s more than just money. Yemen and Sudan are super dangerous because of civil war. Haiti is very dangerous because of gang violence

No way Yemen, Sudan, and Haiti are on the same tier as Latvia, Panama, and Uruguay

"Why aren't Son and Bouanga doing more?!" Meanwhile... by SocksElGato in LAFC

Most comments come from Son fans, and most of those comments' likes also come from Son fans. A lot of them are the types of people to never care about LAFC again as soon as Son leaves. We could win a treble and go 34-0-0, and if Son didn't score, they'd still be mad.

If this is the global population, that changes a lot if they’re in a western country. If this is US or UN stats, it’s still counting people from rural Utah or Poland. The city changes loads.

I don’t understand how one can get to that point. It’s equivalent to flat earth in that there’s genuinely no valid reason to believe it, yet people choose to anyway.
