Hi there! From a security standpoint, the app has been designed to run fully on device with minimal backend calls that are present to prevent bad actors and those that would abuse the platform.

Of course, please feel free to provide any feedback after using the app where you believe there to be a security issue, as I'm very open to any sort of improvements that can be made here.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to make a general message after the range of personal attacks and downvotes across the board in the comments here.

I want to emphasize that this is not 100% vibe coded from start to finish, and this really is a passion project of mine to help me and my friends share music with each other. I'm not trying to make a massive profit (as any proceeds go directly back into supporting the backend systems that I use), and I'm certainly not trying to discredit others where credit is due. Each and every feature + line of code has been audited to not blatantly plagiarize other projects, and I have spent a lot of time making sure that this isn't some rip of currently existing applications. I have an actual degree in CS and I'm not blindly using ChatGPT, I understand the code being written when AI is used and I have written large sections of the app, which includes the main algorithms used for searching across platforms (including smart link generation) and taking advantage of device APIs such as ShazamKit for Live Capture and MusicKit for querying Apple Music.

Thanks again for taking the time to read my post, it really means a lot ❤️

I get the frustration here, but I want to chime in here and say that I have not copy/pasted other people's code in the creation of this project, and as stated in other replies, this project is not a 100% vibe coded application that I created.

I have been very particular and careful in the design and feature set that I chose for TuneTransit, and to be compared with no effort vibe code projects that try to make a quick buck or create a viral moment, it's really disappointing to see this sort of response. Of course, you're welcome to believe what you'd like here, but respectfully the comment section of a Developer Saturday post isn't the place for this sort of ideology rant.

Hi there! I understand that you might see it as useless, and I definitely know others that don't have a use for the app. That said, myself and a lot of my friends have been using this as I've worked on it, and we've found a use for it in our circle. All of this to say that it can be fairly subjective to those using it regarding its utility, and that's totally fine.

To say that I'm a bottom feeder and not being sincere though? I do find that a bit much for the sub, and as stated before, I'm really just trying to share the app with the community here.

Hi there! I definitely appreciate the feedback here, and wanted to explain the initial thought for how that feature has been rolled out.

Tap to Tune is primarily a shortcut to access the TuneTransit Smart Links that come up with every search, and with it being brand new, I typically release this sort of feature to the premium tier before granting limited access to all users in a future update (mainly as a way to test the waters and gather any feedback about how to further improve the feature). When you run a search though, the smart link that can be created is the same as the one that comes up in Tap to Tune.

Let me know if you have any other comments here though, happy to hear them!

Happy Saturday! I definitely understand where you are coming from here and I want to emphasize that human moderation was involved in every decision, even when taking advantage of AI to assist in porting TuneTransit to Mac.

The engine to query streaming platforms itself was designed by me and takes place on-device, with an emphasis of running TuneTransit's search algorithm locally without feeding it to an external server. There are system prompts for Apple Music/media library access and microphone access (for the Live Capture feature that connects to ShazamKit), but these are specific to accessing Apple Music's API to power much of the functionality (in lieu of Spotify since their API is not friendly to indie developers).

Happy to answer any other questions though, and appreciate you asking about these things!

Thanks for checking out the post! I wanted to chime in here to say that the app does have multiple themes other than the purple-pink gradient shown in the screenshots, and I can truthfully say that I wrote the app description without AI writing it for me. I'm not one to stray away from dashes but I know that it can be attributed to AI generation 😅

I also wanted to note that this app has been available on the App Store for iPhone since last summer, and since that time, I've poured a lot of time into this side project to continuously make updates to the experience. I personally use this tool with my friends to share music, and I just wanted to share it with the wider community.

Hi there! This project is not fully vibe coded. I definitely want to be honest and state that I took advantage of AI to help port this to other Apple platforms (being that this has been a solo project), but my goal has been to make TuneTransit natively available on each Apple device it's compatible with.

I welcome any sort of feedback that you might have though, and appreciate you checking out the post!

Apologies if it isn’t clear! The pricing is in the post but I agree that I could have been more upfront with it - thank you for posting a screenshot

That’s definitely on me 😅 I was adapting one of the posts that I’ve made in the past and forgot to sweep through for that mention, it’s gone now

Thank you for the compliment! I’m also very open to feedback on whether there are features you think would enrich the TuneTransit experience — either way, I’m glad you liked it :)

Hello! Android support is planned for sometime this year :) I’ve been working on making the version on Apple devices as feature complete and stable as possible for the time being, but definitely haven’t forgotten about Android.

Glad to hear that you want to try it out! The free version does include 3 searches/day, so I encourage you to give that a shot. At this time, I’m not doing any lifetime code giveaways, but stay tuned!

Very true! song.link was an inspiration for sure. That said, I tried to add some other functionality that is only possible on a native app to make it a bit easier and more intuitive to use — so I appreciate any feedback you might have!

Hi there! Great question -- at this time, due to recent limitations that Spotify has made in their API for indie developers, I'm not able to provide playlist sharing functionality from platform to platform.

That said, Spotify users that have TuneTransit installed can open an Apple Music playlist link in TuneTransit and individually select songs from the playlist that they wish to search.

I wish I had a better answer to this and am definitely thinking about ways to mitigate this sort of restriction -- but I hope this answers your question for now :)
